ewetwo Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Latest Build. Airfix Quick Build Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 7
Dave Van Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I like those kits, have a few. How does it scale out??? thx
Matt Bacon Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 They are generally pretty close to 1/24, but not always the same scale lengthwise as widthwise! That's because the "Lego-like" construction is actually Lego compatible, so the dimensions and spacing of the studs and sockets on the parts are fixed. Effectively, like on a real car, the shapes of the external surfaces are constrained by the "hard points" inside where the blocks lock together. So the width can be ten studs or eleven studs or 12 studs, but not 10.5. Ditto the length. IIRC the McLaren P1 was something like 1/26 in length but 1/22.5 wide. The designer has to choose the best-looking compromise that also allows for a sensible assembly (eg in my example, 10 studs or 12 studs wide makes sense, 11 not so much...). They look good, though, IMHO. best, M.
karbuildr Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Very nice build, I too have two of these kits to mess with sometime. I like the way yours looks.
Yeah Nah Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 (edited) Nice! Sort of reminds me of those stealth aircraft. Edited January 13, 2024 by Yeah Nah

rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Wonderful white color for a Lamborghini. Yes.
ewetwo Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 Thank you Patrick, Robert and Bill. I like them too Bill.
HotRodaSaurus Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 That Lambo looks real nice, I'm hoping to get the 1960s Mustang but just wondering about the scale. If all glued together is it to big for a slot car conversion?
ewetwo Posted January 19, 2024 Author Posted January 19, 2024 Thank you John. The Mustang measures 7 inches long.
