bbowser Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Finished up today, the first in 2024. The decals were old and brittle but went OK until I got to the eagle nose. Fortunately there were extra pieces for the road course version so I was able to patch in without looking too bad. Dan Gurney's All American Racers team entry driven by Alex Barron. Comments welcome, thanks for looking. 5
iBorg Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 A nice build of what I think is one of the best looking CART racers. I do wish it had been more successful on the track.
Darbo Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Don’t see many of those CART cars built. Looks great Bruce
TonyK Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Looks great. All I have left is to put decals on mine. Hopefully it goes well but I'll keep your experience in mind.
Phildaupho Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Great to see. One of my favourite liveries from the CART era and of course I have always been a Dan Gurney fan. I saw this car race in road/street course configuration at Vancouver. Dan never forgave Toyota for dropping his CART team especially considering all the success he previously brought Toyota in IMSA.
Jim B Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Great looking CART car. Really well done. I feel your pain with the decals. I am currently working on the Motorola Reynard 98i, and the decals are definitely old, brittle, & stiff. Mine have the consistency of that thin flash you see on AMT kits. Just horrible. 1
Rich Chernosky Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 She's a beauty Bruce. May you build many more this year.
Racersonly Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 (edited) Very cool, Bruce…….I wasn’t aware that this kit was even available. Any ideas were I might get one? Found it!…….Never mind! ? Edited February 20, 2024 by Racersonly
titino Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 It looks very good, I like it. Congratulations.
MarkJ Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Wow, Bruce. Somehow, I missed this one 8 months ago. Thank you, German, for resurrecting it. Excellent build in every way possible. Paint, decal work, cleanliness of build, and stance. You've got it all here. Sorry for the late kudos. This one surely deserves it.
spencer1984 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Another voice glad to see this thread bumped. I like these kits, nice to see another one finished - great job!
