louis Carabott Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 This model was a headache from start to finish . It's an AMT kit and it really needed quite a lot of work inside the cabin as well as the engine.I portrayed the model as the mount of David and Rob Fenn . I tried to be faithful as I could. Decals are home made ...Seat belts...spot lights and roll bar built from scratch Finished in Gravity paints and lacquer.... I started the pics with the real thing...hope You like it 3
Mittagskind Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Very nice, Louis. This Mustang I have too, but only in black. I think I have to disassemble it again and paint it more attractive. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 That red & white look amazing! The extra details you added really grab your attention.+ 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Very nice detailing. Great-looking model. Nice work. 1
Yeah Nah Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) Your persistence and dedication always pays off Louis. Superb model! As an aside, have you ever posted a 'how to' on producing home made decals? Edited January 18, 2024 by Yeah Nah 1
karbuildr Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 An excellent build and an impressive Mustang. Beautiful work as always. 1
Dragonhawk1066 Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 It looks great! Whatever effort it took seems like was worth it! 1

Download whatever emblems I want from the web make them smaller (trial and error) and when happy with the right size...print them on a blank decal sheet....when ink is absolutely dry I airbrush a coating of semi matt finish 1
XYHARRY Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Really nice Mustang racer there Lou and the details are superb as usual, well done. Here is a pic of my version of a 1st gen Mustang race car. Cheers, David. ?? Australian Nostalgic group c 1

happy grumpy Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Amazing replica. A great tribute to a legendary car. 1
LennyB Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Wow, very impressive. I built a few of these when they first came out but nothing in so much detail. Really cool build. BTW: You need to update the thread title, it say 1967.
Bugatti Fan Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Very nice build. Some of those old AMT kits can really be turned into something special with the sort of work Louis has done on this model.
Phildaupho Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Very nice model. I am a big fan of first gen Mustangs especially race versions.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 That looks WAY better than I ever expected that particular kit to look. Nice work indeed, sir.
Allan31 Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Nice work. At that scale and size, there are no short cuts.
