Johnny Mac Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Revell’s 1/8 motorcycle kits are old now, I understand the kit dates back to the early sixties. With some detailing these are still impressive kits today. I used piano wire & brass tube ferrules to replace the heavy kit spokes, the seat was reworked, all nuts & bolts were shaved & replaced with aftermarket items. Becc Uk number plate , Tamiya wire & cable & real springs completed the build. Paint is 2k aerosol with Gundam pen to tarnish the pipes. Thanks for looking, happy modelling. 7 1
peteski Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Excellent job. Love the spoke wheels add very realistic coloring. I'm pretty sure if it was photographed against a natural background, it would easily pass for 1:1 bike.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Absolutely beautiful model. Peteski's right. She could certainly pass for real.
Beans Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 That looks awesome. Great job on the metal finishes and the exhaust coloring.
John B. Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 If I didn't know any better, I would swear that this is a real bike - very nice!
stavanzer Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 A Genuine Showstopper, John! The weathering om the exhaust pipes looks real. Good Show!
iBorg Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Looks killer. This build yells its time to reissue this one.
bbowser Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 That's beautiful! Replacing the spokes really makes it.
Street Rod Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Great looking bike! All the details and custom work make it very realistic.
TooOld Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Absolutely gorgeous bike Johnny ! I love Tiger's and this is the best ever !
redscampi Posted February 4, 2024 Posted February 4, 2024 (edited) Stellar work on this kit! When you blow up the photos you really see the craftsmanship that went into this model. I have finally landed one that is open and I won't be worried about building. Thanks for the inspiration! Note: I have a Revell first issue (1964) that has a price tag on it for $2.99 Edited February 4, 2024 by redscampi

I think you did a beautiful job on this triumph the detail is very sweet it almost looks as if you could walk up and climb on. I new people had them growing up in the fifties.
Roger U Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Beautiful model. The spokes and detailing are very well done. The paint and the bluing on the exhaust pipes looks realistic.
Bainford Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 Beautiful Triumph. Very authentic details and finishing. It must be impressive to view in person. Lovely model.
ybsluos Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 John your spokes are such an improvement over the kit wheels! And the rest of the build is phenomenal. I have this kit and no, mine will not come out this nice!
