Maybe the wingtip would get in the way of the tailgate coming down. 🤔 Yeah, I thought about that afterward. 🤔 hmmm....the plain one looks better anyway. I dunno...disregard 💩
LennyB
The Woody Couldn't quite make up my mind as to how to approach the spare tire as I didn't find any Plymouth reference photos. Found plenty for Ford, but all those had a hub cap on the spare. That actually seemed odd to me. But most pics you find are of show cars with owners who stick everything they find on the vehicle. I was going to put a hub cap on this but changed my mind. I used the spare tire from the 48 ford which is actually a hard cover over the tire so all you see is the rim. I drilled out three of the lug nuts and left two to represent the wheel being bolted to a bracket of some type. It was very hard to see the drilled holes so I painted the openings from behind with some flat white. Helped a bit but it's still hard to tell they are open holes. Speaking of brackets, early on in the project I cut off the mounting stub for the spare as I didn't know why it was there. So now I had to drill a mounting hole and put a post on the back of the spare for mounting. That's what happens when you don't have an instruction sheet. Now while this may look like the end there are still a few things to do. Hopefully I can have this wrapped up soon. Ta, da... LennyB
The Woody I think I'm getting closer to the finish line and I keep finding loose ends. I never put a battery in this sucker and damn, with all my 41 Plymouth bits I couldn't find the kit battery. Took the battery from the Ford Woody kit and that will just have to do. It's a bit bigger then the original. More power to you... I need to learn not to sit projects on my lap while I'm filing pieces to fit. styrene snow all over the place. And as I took this pic I also realized I have to add the wipers still. Another undone bit was running boards. The stock kit boards are not long enough to fit the woody. Took an extra set of boards and cut the two in half with an extra bit of length to make up for the shortcomings. The one on the left is raw, the one on the right has been cut down to fit the woody. Then I bridged a piece of square stock across the two. I did this primarily so the styrene would be the supporting brace for the boards and both sides would be symmetrical in placement. You can still make out the seam in the pic but it's not that noticeable in real life, so we will live with it. A picture is just worth too many words sometimes especially when it's bigger then life. Running board in place and we have a couple more things to add to the done list. See ya.....
NOBLNG
It’s looking really good Len. I sure like the woodwork on it.😎
Rattlecan Dan
I like the creativity. Looks pretty nice. Not sure the dash and inside door trim shouldn't be body color though. Nice job so far.
customline
Don't sweat the running boards, Len. They take a beating. The rubber dries out from sun exposure and cracks and then the salty winter roads rust the metal away and...well then you have a nicely weathered running board. 🤓.

Sam I Am
I'd say don't sweat the details, but it's the little details that make it such a great build.
LennyB
Took care of a few last details, at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it, and with that I will call it done. Have to stop somewhere and I think this is as good a place as any. Put the wipers on, went with the wipers from the 48 Ford kit as I think they look better then the photo etched ones I put on the coupe. Also did a little doodle-ling on the front grill emblem to make it look like something. A few dabs of paint over some BMF and it looks fine from 20'. The emblem AMT molded in was so faint it disappeared under the first coat of primer which is why you don't see many builds WITH and emblem. And we say goodbye to the dynamic duo... The END??? I hope so.😶
customline
Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on two jobs well done. I hope you learned your lesson but if you ever are tempted to grab another of these '41 Plymouth kits because it's a cheap score, I will not be sympathetic. Seriously, though, they both look great, Len! Now you can marry the Ford nose to the Plymouth body. THAT would be something 😳.

I actually have a resin 48 Plymouth body I was thinking of putting on the 48 Ford chassis. Someone mentioned that in one of our 41 Plymouth threads and it looks like it would fit well. That's a project for another day...

Should be fun, though. 🙂 maybe you could splice the front half....well, you know.
