junkyardjeff Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 I think in 66 they were all blue but what about the 62 to 65s,
Force Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 They changed color to blue sometime under 1965, most likely for the 1966 model year.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Yup. My '65 Mustang's 289 was black, with gold valve covers. The old man bought it new, and it was dead stock when I got it.
slicks56 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 My 64 falcon sprint has a ford red 260 in it, it is stock.

Block should be black. https://www.galaxieclub.com/Colors.html and https://www.falconparts.com/blog/ford-falcon-technical/ford-falcon-engine-colors/ Edited February 1, 2024 by RancheroSteve
slicks56 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Even on your chart it shows it as a medium blue (except sprint). It is red with ugly gold valve covers and air breather. the car has 86000 miles on it and was purchased by my aunt in 65. but thanks for telling me about my car.
RancheroSteve Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Uh no - both charts state all blocks were black up until the '66 model year.
