Maurice Henderson Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 What's up my fellow modeler This is my 2nd post to this site..I'm a big WJ fan..I wanted to post a couple of my builds for all to see. They're my Warren's 98 white Firebird and his 97 car..The white car has decal I purchase from ebay and the blue I used his Olds Cutlass decals..The white was finished Nov 2023 and the blue was in 2010..I took some time from the hobby and during the pandemic I started again and it gave 1me something to do..The 55 was finished in early Jan 2024, but I still need to put a radiator hose on..For some reason I forget that on all my models, but their my shelf queens..The 55 was the 1st engine I wired based on some of the excellent advise I got from so many of you..Yes it has a front bupper, but it is removable The white Firebird was my 1st attempt at scratch building a parachute rack..Thank you all for your advice and welcoming to this community. 3
Zippi Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Nice looking build man. I used to really like watching Bod Glidden and Warren Johnson run. I was more of a Bob Glidden fan just because he was a good ole Hoosier from Whiteland Indiana. That 55 is looking pretty Sweet.
TarheelRick Posted January 31, 2024 Posted January 31, 2024 Definitely some sweet builds. That '55 is killer, very nice work. 1 hour ago, Zippi said: watching Bob Glidden and Warren Johnson run I was a Glidden fan because he drove a Ford.
Rattlecan Dan Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Maurice, Thanks from the forum for the kudos. You've done some nice work on those builds. I always thought Warren Johnson presented himself as a nice guy. Tough competitor as well. The 55 is very cool as well. Nice job!
bytownshaker Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Great job, WJ had some interesting cars over year Vega, Starfire, Firenza, Monte Carlo(i think he just drove), my favorite was his Big block Camaro.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Nice work Maurice, very clean builds! I love Pro Stock cars, it was my favorite class of drag racing until they switched to fuel injection, it was more exciting in the days of carburetors in my opinion while all the Detroit manufacturers were in competition, it has changed a lot since then! ? Scale models are a good way to bring back to life these memories of the past where a lot of development was done directly on the track by good old mechanical enthusiasts. ?

Congratulation Maurice, you put a big smile on my face, obviously we like the same thing but you own the real thing! The feeling of driving these monsters must be amazing, i will continue making my toys and i appreciate that a professional from your class can appreciate what I do! ? Francis
