Bentley Blower4.5 liter Les Mans 1930.....Kit Airfix 1/12 scale

When I first joined this forum I introduced myself and I also uploaded a couple of pics of my model of the Airfix Bentley...So I thought I'd post some more pics and info

regarding the build .I built this a while ago and it was my first go for a large scale kit.  I always loved a challenge :)  Needless to say as you all know it 's quite an old kit and I had to be very careful because the parts were quite brittle....

Needed a lot of work as well ... had to be build some scratchbuilt components ....Obviously a lot and I mean a  lot of trunking and wiring . Wooden floor built from scratch

as well as the dashboard . Wire wheels were laced ...not an easy task....Insect screen meshing was used for the fuel tank protective meshing ... Finished in Gravity paint and lacquer

Hope you like it

Regards

Lou

Beautifully done scale model. Your attention to the smallest little details makes looking at this a real treat.

That is beautiful.  I regard the one I did as one of my best builds, and this blows it away.  Well Done!  I got a chance to see one of these at a concourse event and it was a sight.  I also got on TV that day.

This kit has been around almost as long as I have and in the hands of a master like you Louis can be finished as a museum quality masterpiece.

Did you scratch build the blower? It looks better than typical injection molded parts from the 1970s.

Same one in the kit Lee ...thanks for your kind comments ?

Oh Lou, you've done it again. It never ceases to amaze me how much detail can be added to these builds. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

David. ??
