Mock up time! Primer arrived today, so I was able to put on another coat. Mr. Hobby Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. Great stuff.

(Maybe an idea for a future build?). Plenty of chrome, aluminum and stainless will be added along with a glossy black finish. Some final fitting and adjustment will be needed with the body, cab, hood, and chassis, but overall it fits together well.

Here’s a chassis comparison with a standard Italeri 378 build, another project I’m working on when I’m “waiting for the paint to dry” on the 379 RV.

I don’t like having too many projects going on at one time, but having a couple builds readily available to work on is nice for when you’re waiting on parts, or for something to cure, or just waiting for inspiration to strike.

Looks very special and luxurious in all black.

It could pass as a full sized RV limousine.

Great details on engines also!

Your engines are little jewels.

Thanks. For the Series 60, I added a basic amount plumbing and wiring, and it has been weathered with Tamiya panel accent, my first time using the stuff. What a great product for engines.

Thanks, I really like it in black, too.

Geez, Victor, the primer looks awesome - could be an expensive (very!) vinyl wrap job in real life!

True, I may use it for a finish of another build in the future. I’ve had very good luck with that primer.

It does look special in black, your bodywork looks straight too! Tidy piece of work.

Thanks, I appreciate that. This evening I did a little more touch up, mainly on the rooftop awning fairing in front. Never-ending body work.

Thanks, that’s appreciated. One of these days I’ll build one of the 3d printed Series 60’s from GP modeling. The one in your Farm Floater truck is amazing. You’ve raised the bar on engine builds with that one.

Satin black looks great!

Could be Batman's RV! 😉

Just a joke! That finish is really nice. And that's "just" a primer? Awesome!

Thanks, and yes that’s primer. Apparently there’s a shortage of supply for the Mr Hobby 1500 Black primer, according to my local hobby shop. They haven’t received any since July. I was able to order some online.
