Mattilacken Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 (edited) This is my long term project and I make this thread partly to remember my plan and ideas. The Plan has always been inspired by the Roadkill Muscle Truck, 2wd nice stance and a nice looking engine with a manual gearbox. some parts have always bugged me about this kit.. or most of it. So most parts will be modified or replaced.. to start with wheels and tires, engine and gearbox, rear axle, tailgate, bumpers all around, and the interior. Hum, easier to say what’s left. The body and frame is still there, parts of it? the front bumper is designed for my old K5 blazer but I printed it to see if it would fit this build. Engine is my version of a LS3 found on Grabcad with T56. Rear axle is a Ford 9 inch. I also have a firebird in pieces that where suppose to donor parts but it most likely won’t do so. front axle is my own design based on a c5 layout. The rear axle might also get a 4link since the leaf springs are not that good looking and hard to adjust to get the right ride height. Second engine in the pics are a l79 that used to be my engine of choice. Edited February 16, 2024 by Mattilacken 5

A arms and upright I found on Grabcad and modified them to work for scale work, i made the crossmember and made sure everything worked. And then I printed them Edited February 16, 2024 by Mattilacken 4
Mr.1/16th Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 I used the front clip off the 1/16th scale “Moving On Van” to get the correct look for this project, big fan of 3D parts they can make now a days! 2

Mattilacken Posted February 17, 2024 Author Posted February 17, 2024 Made a new tailgate for this project.
Sergey Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 (edited) Interesting project! I like the engine most of all! Tail gate and front bumper looks great too! Edited February 18, 2024 by Sergey 1

Yes both of them have, but the L79 have full detail so i had to reduce it even to be able to print it in 1/25 as well I did put roller rockers on it but did not correct that al the valves are closed. The LS have great external details. Both are modeled from 1:1 engines in 1:1 and i scaled them down. 12 hours ago, Sergey said: Interesting project! I like the engine most of all! Mattilacken Posted April 23, 2024 Author Posted April 23, 2024 Made some progress now when the Porsche is done. roof is sanded and primed to look for imperfections. Front suspension is in. Next is to drill and tap them so I can have them turning. 5
Mattilacken Posted May 3, 2024 Author Posted May 3, 2024 I have started to paint the engine and components.. looking mighty fine! 4
Mattilacken Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 I did make the engine ready to be displayed on the side until the rest is done so here it is: 5

Mattilacken Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 After getting inspired by @Mr.1/16th s builds lately I took this one out again. since I fixated the rear cab wall making the interior got tobe a pita which lead me to opening the doors. Also started mocking the interior from a cheap started trans am kit I bought as a donor. 2
Mr.1/16th Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Oh yeah! Glad you’re back on it! I was surfing the pages looking of your post about this one!! I’ll be posting up one of my other truck builds I did for you! 👍 2
Mr.1/16th Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Started out on opening up this step side and scratch built the front cross member and was looking for your page to see what you left off on. This one I sent to a club brother to finish so he was asking about it so I sent it to him. Have a few more I need to get back on and one of them is on my bench now. Let’s get back to these bro! 😎 3

Let’s get back to these bro! 😎 Sweet builds mate! It’s so nice to see those engines in 1/16 scale! 3d printing really open up the possibilities with these big scale builds! Just tires was a pain before when that’s something that I am picky about! I will push on and do some work now as well as I have done some on my c3 corvette with wide fenders and CSB.
Mattilacken Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 I installed the floor and decided to glue the cab as one piece much like the 1:1. So now it’s one huge piece:-) 1
Mattilacken Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 Made some progress, fabed up the rear end with coilovers, panhard and 4link. also made a safety loop for the driveshaft.. probably made a lot of things that I have forgotten but it’s taking shape. Had to try the ride height as well. Sits just as I like it! 3
Mattilacken Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Got starter on hinges today as well as door Cards. Looking good. 3
