happy grumpy Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 The first photo was my inspiration to build this. I took some artistic license as to the year of the truck. I am not sure the military used this kind of box on the 78. The box is scratch built, airbrushed with tamiya acrylics. The wheels/tires are from an Ebay seller; jaysresinwheels1948 and they are really nice. I opened the grille and left everything else pretty much stock. Doing the camo brought memories when I use to build WWII aircrafts. As always , Thanks for looking. 10
Jim B Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Nice looking CUCV ambulance. Well done. The General Motors (Chevrolet) CUCV was Model Years 1984-87, while the Dodge Five Quarter was Model Years 1976-77. The Dodge ambulance was the M886. I remember when my unit swapped out our M1009 & M1008 for M998 HMMWV. Some people were not happy. Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle - Wikipedia 1

I am currently working on chief Hopper's chevy blazer from 'stranger things ' and it's a real gem. 1
Jim Dodson Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Terrific airbrush work! You say the 'box' was scratch built? That deserved a WIP all its own. Fantastic model Mario! 1
djmcguire Posted March 11 Posted March 11 That is one very good and realistic looking M1010 and that scratch built box looks as if it were part of a 'kit'. Nice work all around. 1
WillyBilly Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Outstanding build. I am in the process of building a M1009, M1008, and a M880. Your build sure gives me motivation. 1
