Chuck Most Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I know I've had a couple of these kits over the years but I think this is the first one I've actually built. Not the greatest kit but still a fun project, which I suppose is the whole point. The hood fits about as well as it's going to in the photos. It just refuses to sit flush on the passenger side. For some reason the exhaust tips are molded with the roll pan. I cut them off and hit them with some Revell chrome in a can. After misplacing the factory airbox I replaced it with an Iceman conical filter. Neither of the included wheel and tire options suited me, so I modified some Testors Eddie Van Halen wheels to fit the Revell brake rotors. With the lowered suspension, the gas tank is dangerously close to the ground, if I built another one I would address that. Speaking of Testors, I used an ancient can of Pure Gold for the paint. 10
ncbuckeye67 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 In spite of the issues, you still managed to build something nice! I love the gold & wheels. It's hard to believe the problems you had with a Revell kit.
Mattilacken Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Came out great Chuck! The hood is a big issue, i have tre different kits and none of them fits well. Collor wheel and decal combo is nice.
espo Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Beautiful looking color and finish. Like the stance. Most truck owners put the aftermarket air cleaners on their trucks anyway so it's in keeping with the lowered street truck look.
1930fordpickup Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Nice work with a seldom seen built kit. Nice touch with the wheels. They look spot on to me. 1
