A simple little curbside build, that started out with a broken promo, while the Yenko Chevette concept was inspired by a car, that sat for sale, in front of a local storage facility several years ago...

Body mods were limited to molding in a cowl scoop, that was cultivated from a Revell 1/32 scale '69 Z 28 hood,

while the rear spoiler is a narrowed Revell 1/25 '69 Z snap kit unit.....

The stock Chevette front and rear bumpers were split down the center, narrowed, and tucked in closer to the body.

New axle holes were drilled to mount big n little large diameter Corvette style Rally Wheels, sourced from a 1/32 scale Jada diecast.

Paint is Testors Extreme Lacquer Icy Blue, cleared with Duplicolor 1K (Love that stuff)...

Decals are a mix of Revell kit decals and a set of 1/32 scale slot car decals that I found on eBay.

Interior features the custom bucket seats from an AMT Dodge D50 pickup kit, Corvette shifter, and a custom steering wheel from the parts box.

Interior finish is Tamiya Light Blue Pearl.... Carpet is blue embossing powder..

Wow, I thought this was going to be a likeness of the second picture. That looks amazing, great job on turning it around and that colour is gorgeous. Well done Marty.

Cheers,

David. ??

Wow, a far better looking "Vette" than what inspired the build!

LOL..... Yeah, the car that inspired me was, and I'm being kind here, extremely crude.

But, it planted the idea in my head, of what if it was done right. ?

I had an 81 Chevette, that was almost exactly like your inspirational pic. Tootsie-roll brown two-door, tan interior, 4 spd. I could fill up the gas tank with a $10 bill....

very cool, my dad used to have the vauxhall version in almost the colour you painted yours. He had a darker blue 4dr saloon version with a ford v6 too and a van for work in babypoo brown with white panels on the glass line.

Awesome build Marty! Love the stance, and subject matter. I really enjoy these “off the beaten path” type of builds. Very well executed.

This is great. Love the color and the stance. Tell you what, Send it to me and I'll stuff a big block under that hood. For a curb side, thats pretty darn cool!
