Hello,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post.  I am not new to model building however having built my first model over 69 years ago but I have been away from the hobby for many years but am now trying to get started again.  Boy, have things changed.  Kit prices (Yikes !!), resin material, 3D Printing, super glue.... Wow.

First I want to thank Ace-Garageguy (Bill Engwer) for his September 20, 2013 post in Model Building Questions and Answers section responding to "How DO I SEARCH FOR ANSWERS ALREADY POSTED HERE ?"  His advice works great. Simple and direct.  It saves many frustrating hours of searching the archives directly.  Thanks Bill!

The project I am starting with is in 1/8 scale as working in the smaller popular scales is not comfortable for me now at my age (76).  For the project I want to use a Jag XK series engine.  Does anyone on the forum know if TDR Innovations still offers that engine?  Apparently they did at some time in the past according to their old posts here but I haven't found anything current.  The engine they offered appeared to be very detailed with much better detailing than seems to be possible with resin casting.  I am hoping to find the engine alone rather than purchasing a complete Monogram or Revell XKE Jag kit.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Shel

Theres a 3d printed engine in 1/10 that will scale nicely to 1/8. its a very nice piece and the moss gearbox is available too. the engine also has a triple carbs upgrade available. I've printed it all in 1/24 and it turned out nice. the only part not included with the engine is the belts but some insulting tape will soon fix that

stitchdup,

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, the Cults 3D file is a very nicely detailed Jag engine.  I had found that site earlier but I don't do any 3d printing.  I am hoping to find and purchase an engine kit already printed by someone who does do the printing process.  Speedstar Models in Portugal did list up until very recently what appeared to be that exact Cults 3D file for the Jag engine in 1/8 scale as a kit for sale but when I attempted to purchase one it was no longer listed.  I have tried contacting them but so far no reply.

Again, thanks for your help.
