6bblbird Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 This another one of those projects that I started a loooong time ago that I was determined to finish. Not a big name car but a reminder of the good old days when you could get a few guys together and actually build a competitive race car. One guy with money, another with a gas station to work on the car, and a little guy brave enough to drive the thing! It was built with left over parts from MPC Don Garlits and Young American kits. 12
ColonelKrypton Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 Very nice. Those were the days of real drag racing, not the billion dollar "Sports Entertainment" it has become. cheers, Graham 3 1
Yeah Nah Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Another beauty Walter. Your builds always get me keen to do more competition subjects.
Straightliner59 Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 That is really cool, Walt! It perfectly captures the era when there were enough cars to qualify a 64 car field. Great work, sir!
jlucky Posted March 31, 2024 Posted March 31, 2024 Great job...that really takes me back! I really love that period of drag racing before all the hi-tech engineering started making everything look that same. 1
