spencer1984 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Mostly box stock build of an original release AMT/Ertl kit that's been in my stash for nearly 30 years: Paint is TS-86 and TS-14, with the interior done in several shades of gray to replicate that '90s aesthetic: He joins my classic MPC Knight Rider KITT, which is definitely showing its age: I did say "mostly box stock." My one change was the addition of a lighting kit from Evan Designs, rewired so that everything fits inside the body shell (I had purchased an older version meant to run off a 9V battery in a base - they now offer a 3V version that can do this straight out of the box). A full writeup of the project is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome! 5
happy grumpy Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 What a cool project. I remember having one in the stash when it came out. I kept putting off over and over until one day it disappeared from the stash. Never knew where it went. Glad to see one built. The red scanner is a nice touch. Great job on this one Bill.
karbuildr Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Very cool. Beautiful build, very nice paint and exceptional interior.
KWT Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Another fantastic star car build... Very nicely done Bill!
spencer1984 Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 Thanks all, it was a fun experiment trying out the lighting kit!
XYHARRY Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Fantastic. The lighting really brings it to life. Well done Bill. Cheers, David. ??
kurth Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Nice work. And thanks for mentioning Evan designs .. I have had ideas for hypothetical Knight Industries cars but they never got any where as I had no idea where to start with the LEDs

This was my second time working with their products and so far I've been very happy - everything pretty much plugs together right out of the box.
