M W Elky
I just got this one finished it’s the AMT 1966 Chevelle . The kit wheels were swapped out for some steel wheels out of the parts box I believe they are Johann . I used the headers from the old pro nova kit and the slicks are AMT. The paint job is testors white enamel. As for the decals I have no clue who made them or how old they are, but what I didn’t find out until I put them on is that the clear that they used to seal them must’ve yellowed. I’m not real happy with how they came out. Unless I can get new ones made it’s what I’m stuck with. It’s still a pretty cool replica of a seldom seen stocker . Until next time thanks for looking. Maurice Henderson
Sir, I really like the stance on your Chevelle..I actually remember this car from back in the day..You don't see a lot of models that drag cars from the 70's, 80's & 90's that's probably why I will build my models from those years..Co grats on a fine build. Sledsel
That is a sharp looking Chevelle. Yellowing of the decals is a bummer, but possibly it's the glue. I know they're already on and it is what it is but in the past I have actually taken old decals and put a few drops of bleach in the water that I release them with, and that helped with yellowing caused by the glue. That's the one thing about a kit that is a light color you risk the chance of yellowing decals. I have a baby blue 66 Mustang that did the same thing
Zippi
I like the old school drag cars. Great job on this one.

papajohn97
Another cool door slammer Mike, one I’ve never seen modeled. I need to look for one of these AMT kits, it’s the car I learned to drive in (my mom’s Artisan Turquiose 283/ PowerGlide coupe). On the yellowed decals, I wonder if they can be bleached clear again by exposing the model to sunlight for an extended period (like on an inside window sill)? I’ve had some success clearing up yellowed decal sheets this way, not sure if it would work after mounting?
Leo64
I sent you a PM a few days ago about maybe helping out with the decal problem. If I can help out, just let me know. Steve A.
