Duddly01 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I started out with an Mpc 1975 convertible kit, scratch built headlights and added LED lighting. MCW finishes 1973-74 Corvette Orange with Splash Paints 2K clear. I have only been a spectator at a couple of scale model show, just the last year. I have never entered a scale model show, I am thinking about taking this model and some of my Mustang builds to the So Cal Open scale Model car show next weekend. if you missed the work in progress thread it is here: 19
XYHARRY Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I'm surprised that you have never entered any of your builds for judging. I'm sure you would be pleasantly surprised. Your Corvette and Mustangs are very show worthy. "Just do it!" Cheers, David. ?? 1
FoMoCo66 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Nice corvette! The lights just ad that extra level of detail. Oh and the paint is awesome ?. 1
Ragtop Man Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Really nice, I kept scrolling the pics waiting for the top to come up!!! 1
espo Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Beautiful looking paint and body work. Watched your build and the extent of your detailing and adding lighting turned out show worthy to say the least. 1

I only really got back into build model cars in the last year after a long hiatus. I did build a model of a car I owned last, in 2011. I never really even knew about the shows or scale model magazines. I was always into the full scale classic cars almost exclusively. 7 hours ago, Tom99 said: Very nice!! Thank You!

I can tell you the corvette headlights were a lot of work. Not a lot of room to get the headlights moving up and down and light up the front and side front marker lights. 13 hours ago, MeatMan said: Nicely done! Thank You! Edited April 29, 2024 by Duddly01

It will be nice just to participate and meet and learn from others. 44 minutes ago, kelson said: A great looking finished build!,your builds are contest worthy for sure, enter and have some fun!. Thank you, I registered. I understand this is a pretty nice show. I saw a YouTube video from 2022 BG posted. I have no misconceptions of winning, but will be nice to be a part of the show.
