Allan31 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I can't seem to find this car. I'm amazed there doesn't seem to be a kit, die-cast, 3D printed or anything else available anywhere. I want to model this car... I'm not familiar enough with Cadillacs to know what else i can start with and modify such as a 1949 or 1951. Any thoughts from the experts?
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 It's going to have to be a resin or 3-D printed kit. No plastic Cadillac kits from that era ever produced. Possibly some early promos, but not that I'm aware of. Steve
Gramps46 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Allan, this is a Modelhaus resin kit but unfortunately, they are out of production now. The decal is from LEMANS Decals. 1
Allan31 Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Gary, is there any chance of purchasing this from you?.. PM me if you like.
Gramps46 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 The Cadillac was one of my holy grails as I am working on building as many of the Cunningham cars as I can. I recently got a Profil24 C4RK coupe to build and have the 1950 Cadillac Le Monstre on preorder. 1
Hoffman Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I saw these at the Cunningham museum in Costa Mesa, CA, in about 1982. Amazing machines. ?
bobss396 Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Contact Don from Modelhaus, I know he was selling off stock and some masters a year ago, not cheap.
Allan31 Posted April 29, 2024 Author Posted April 29, 2024 The Cunningham legacy is an amazing one. I have the Fisher kit, not built yet. I was thrilled when Brian Redman decided to have the Cunningham cars as the featured marque for his Jeff 500. Any contact info for Don at Modelhaus?

Gramps46 Posted June 18, 2024 Posted June 18, 2024 I do not know of anyone who has done the conversion you mentioned. What I did do was buy a junker Franklin Mint 53 Cadillac to use the chassis, and interior in my 1950.
dino246gt Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I have the Modelhaus '50 Caddy, never unboxed, if you want it, not cheap, contact me.
dino246gt Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 I built the Modelhaus '49 Caddy and was planning to built the '50 as it's companion. I've built a few Caddies!

Hi, Gary, this https://www.ebay.com/itm/364205032224 place, from Bill Allphin, Mr. gtx6970, did have a '50 resin body, and I am pleased to announce that it is now "on the move"!... Although I had some difficulties to find the wheels and correct "dishes" for my '55, the Cunningham car did run on standard steel wheels, without dishes , and I believe I have one set somewhere, and the tub will be easy to make by the '55 model, as they are probably identical... let's see what I can do when I get the body... thank you very much!
Gramps46 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 I just found this resin body by TKM in my stash that I had forgotten about. It is yours if you want it.
W-409 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 This is not an easy car to find in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. I have had the plan to build a Cadillac of this era as a Traditional Custom for years, using the Revell Foose Cadillac as a starting point, but obviously everything that Foose did to that Caddy, has to be re-done to get rid of any modernized junk on a beautiful old car. Basically the only thing I'm missing is the tail fins and tail lights. Pretty much any Cadillac from '48 to '55 would be a suitable donor for these parts, but haven't found any. Even a "junk" resin body would work, if only the tail lights were salvageable. I know Modelhaus did some Cadillac quarter panels in resin which would be exactly what I needed, but they are really hard to find. If anyone has these parts, or a resin body, or a diecast or whatever that has the tail lights and rear quarters, I'm interested.
