Chuck Most Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 This was just a fun project, a kitbash between the (now) AMT Dodge L700 and the AMT Ford C900 Garwood packer. The rear frame rails were grafted onto the Ford chassis to get the wheelbase to 153". Basic large subassemblies were mostly out of the box, though I added a winch cable made from leader line and added some work lights. Line-O reflective tape was used in place of the kit waterslide decals. The paint on the packer body started the entire project. I found a can of Rust-Oleum Satin Moss Green in the garage, and thought it was an appropriately hideous color that would look good in a garbage truck. The same green was used for the wheels, bumper, and grille. 9
cifenet Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 This is how exactly our city’s garbage truck looks right now except it is Mack. Fantastic weathering and realism!
carrucha Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Very cool garbage truck. Nice job on the conversion.
stavanzer Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Wow! It looks great, Chuck. Your weathering is Top Notch! Good Show.
hct728(Bob) Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 A good match-up, not seen before! Neat job on the paint and weathering, and the winch adds some interest to the rear end, well done!
leafsprings Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Great idea for the Dodge L 700, just about ready for a new paint job for the new owner.
