Well at least it bounced, could have been worse.?

Looking really nice Jim. Those kit decals for the emblems must be something new. Don't recall getting those before.

The '63 kit came from Hobbylinc.com.  I imagine it's the latest version. It's a pretty decent decal sheet. I'll get a picture up.

Well, I said "bounced"; it actually did land on the floor after a first my pass at my naked, unprotected lower thigh first but the use of "bounced" was, I admit, a slight exaggeration. It stabbed me but only penetrated less than a millimeter. A one band-aid injury. My hands faired a little worse during that foiling episode with a thumb losing a small flap of much-needed surface. All normal stuff. I expect it and I am prepared for it ?.

That's a winner. Looking good.

Thank ya, DW. Still some issues to clean up but just boring stuff. Not totally happy with decals. The maker goofed on the C-pillar decals with spelling and didn't print the lower cowl lettering. I would not expect the deck lid words due to the limited photos of this car. If I had not seen them with my own two eyes, I wouldn't know either. Those I will make myself.

Came out fantastic. Looks mean and fast.

There's a video of one of these Gals under power. Awesome. Too bad mines made out of plastic ?.  I got the last decal on a few minutes ago. I can't find a photo of the actual slogan on this particular car but it satisfies my need to immortalize my memory of it. It appears on more than one of Tasca's cars.  It may not have looked exactly like what I have here but it serves well enough. I'm sure it was the subject of more than a few conversations in the pits.

Very cool indeed! When I built Phil Bonners Al Means 62 Ford Galaxie, I had decals from MCW back when Dave owned it. But they didn’t include the BAM SAM or the BBARC for the trunk and rear panel. Then I had Whoopi Kat print me up a set that still didn’t have the trunk decals. So I just built the car without those two. It sure would have been nice to have them on the model though.

They did a lot of sayings on the rears of the old S/S cars. I looked yours up, and it said it means “ follow me”. Possibly meaning to advertise “ Follow me to Tasca Ford”? Some T Bolts had some ads also.

I use an old CD label program that still runs on my ancient Windows XP machine to make decals when necessary. This one turned out well enough ?

Yup. My Dad knew what it meant. He was fluent, my grandparents were French Candian. We got a laugh out of it. I believe the intent was a message to the driver in the other lane. ?

Here’s the two my decals didn’t have. The trunk BAM SAM means, “ By All Means, See Al Means”, on the tail panel BBARC means “ Bonners Bad Azz Race Car. You have to see Al Means Ford dealership, to buy the car on Monday, that you saw winning at the track on Sunday.

Here’s another that comes to mind.

)

Thats some NICE-A55 Fawrds ya gut dere, Boss.  I've been looking for a '62 but they ain't cheap.  My guess is your '62 has a '60 on the bottom? It gets pretty 'spensive ?. I'm gonna do the T-bolt and one of Tasca's A/FX cars, a Mustang. That's it for me on this subject. I can't do this to another Starliner kit ? (but I've gotta get another one; it's a great kit ?).

By the way, Tom, the BAM SAM decal looks easy if you have an ap that can manipulate graphics. Nice big letters, print it on clear paper, piece of cake. The other one, not so much but maybe a close font; the letters are kinda small, too.

Thanks. The 62 is a resin body, with the Starliner under pinnings. I have a whole bunch or Starliner bodies left that I stole the chassis from. I was on a Ford kick a while back and built a whole bunch of Thunderbolts, and lightweight Galaxies. I had a bunch of S/S decals that I wanted to use up. So as of right now, I have the 66 Fairlane Ulrey Bros car on the bench. Getting close to completion. My goal is to get all the WIPs that survived my recent move,( some didn’t) but it’s cool. I was really upset over my Moebius Ventura drag car. But I have a few more of that kit in the stash. I had a ton of work in that one. I almost cried.

I'm sorry for your loss, Tom ?. I need to see if any decals are available for the Norwood Motors cars. My Fords need some Chevys to beat ?

Got the decals on 'er tonight. Take a peek ?

I love it Jim! Came out beautiful! Where did you get these decals?

I assumed you used SMP decals and just went to checked their website (SMPdecals.com) found this website is no longer in existence and learned that the owner, Bruce Sadewater, passed away last month. Sad news. Despite the rastor graphics, I loved the subjects that SMP made decals for and appreciated their reasonable prices and good service. Will miss them!

I was always a Chevrolet guy, and when I drag raced it was SBC. But since I got back into models, I learned a thing or two. I’m not knocking Chevrolet or any GM product, but after doing research on some of the cars I like to build, I found out about the big Impala Z-11 cars that came out in 63, and then they pulled the plug on racing. So I’m kind of a Ford guy now. If I ever got another toy 1:1 car it most likely would be an old Ford.

As you can tell by my name, I'm 100% a Ford guy, and a Ford race guy at that. Ford was not always focused with racing, but when they tried, they won. Like the 427 sohc that got banned from nascar for being TO good. I've been fascinated with Ford racing history since pretty much forever.

Oh and that's why you will always find me saying, put a Ford in a Ford.

And maybe just maybe a Ford in a Chevy.?

Why do we never see that? ?  probably because back in the golden era of hot-rodding nobody wanted a Chevy. The Ford V8 was king and Fords were just plain cool. Why bother with a Chevy? ? ( I'm gonna get some flack on this, I just know it ?)

Yes, of course...who can argue with that? ?

LOL!! You know, I just could not resist.

I will agree with one thing, I really hate to go to a car show and see a Ford anything cheap chebby engine in it. If you want chebby power, buy a chebby chassis to put it in . Oh, you can't, they all rusted into dust by now. tee hee. Sorry, could not help myself.

That turned out beautiful. Nice build…

Still have a bit to go. I'm running into final assembly issues, the usual sort; dash/windshield interference.  Was nearly there and had to tear it apart to fix it. And then there's the bumpers ?.

My dad was a big Ford nut, and when I started to drive, he used to bust my hump on liking Chevrolet. My very first car was a 73 LTD. Now I had a few wicked fast cars, that I used to race, and he was proud, and even used to come out and mess around under the hoods sometimes. But, as far back as I can remember, he had some really cool Fords. And I plan on building a few of them.

I was just a little one when he had his red on red 62 Galaxie.
And the list goes on. All two doors except one.

62 Falcon

66 Fairlane 390 ( I remember this car being really super fast, would plant you seriously in the seat)

69 Galaxie Sports Roof 302

71 Ford custom 4 door

72 Ford Galaxie Brougham

Then he started driving those big boat, four door Mopars. I learned to drive on a 74 Chrysler Newport. I sure wish I had one or two of those cars today.
