69H.O.Firebird Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Trying to start them young. She is 5 and has built a few snap kits with Pap. I let her brush paint where she can and she also applied the Future clear coat. Pap helps her push the parts together they are too tight for her. I make her locate the parts on the instructions and find them in the box. Pap trims them for her. Great times! 17
ea0863 Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 She did a wonderful job, with a little help from Pap! I hope she still has this model 40 years from now and remembers your time together. 1
espo Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 I agree with Emre, the time spent with your granddaughter has to be really special for both of you. Her Corvette looks great.
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 She's a little charmer. Great looking model. She did a swell job!
drodg Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Fun. Enjoy them when they are young as they grow up way too fast.
happy grumpy Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 From the photos, she's off to a good start. Nice to see some youngster picking interest in the hobby. Great job.
Street Rod Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Her smile says it all! She’s off to a great start, y’all keep up the great work together!
Big_John Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 Good for her! That's a better job than the rest of us would have done at that age.
Jim B Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 She did a very nice job on her Corvette. She obviously has good taste in cars. ?
karbuildr Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 How awesome is that. Way cool Corvette. What a great way to share time with your granddaughter.
rickcaps55 Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 All right looks awesome welcome new modeler builder keep them coming.!!!!
Bainford Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Super awesome! Great looking Vette. Well done Pap. Fun times. If she has a little free time, get her to put together a short tutorial on clear coating for the forum. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 That's awesome! It reminds me of the time spent with my own granddaughter, doing exactly the same thing. She even entered a build from a "make & take" at a show once.

I just gave her a nice big brush with a paint cup of future floor wax, told her to paint the whole car except for the tires. We let it sit overnight and it looks like this! Lol
XYHARRY Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Wonderful to see these snap kits used as they are intended for, introducing our younger generation into the hobby. Well done to you both and keep on keeping on. Cheers, David. ??
