Dutzie Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 I am starting my next build. It’s the 3D printed Black Box Twin V 8 truck. I’m going to try some detail work, which I haven’t done in years. Hopefully it turns out as well as I plan. 2
Gary Chastain Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Wow, this will be a cool build, where did you find a kit like this?

I have a few of his body kits, and a lot of his engines and wheels.
Fanman Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 (edited) I just purchased the same kit and being my first 3D printed project I was totally surprised at how much sanding is required. I found a video on Facebook by a professional printer who has come up with a concoction that can be brushed on and sanded off. He says it’s the best solution he’s found so far and he’s tried them all. I think this could be a very long project. Edited May 17, 2024 by Fanman

Very cool looking concept. As Dan stated below, you can find the kit on Cults. Black Box has some really cool products out there.

The switch detail is unbelievable!

There is usually minimal sanding if layer heights and support settings are dialed in.
Dutzie Posted May 18, 2024 Author Posted May 18, 2024 After several nights of painting, the build process can begin.
Dutzie Posted May 19, 2024 Author Posted May 19, 2024 Carb linkages, fuel lines, and pre-wired distributers added. Fuel blocks added to the front of intake manifolds. I will be adding MSD ignition and coils to each as well. 1

Dutzie Posted May 26, 2024 Author Posted May 26, 2024 Made some good progress last night. If you haven’t tried the Revell chrome spray paint, it is definitely worth it. 2
Dutzie Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 Been able to finish the interior. Added some photo etched parts, stereo, speakers, and a digital display. 3 1
cifenet Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Wow, this is definitely unique! What a massive setup and you got superb detailing going. There are some racing features which I like! Definitely interested to see how it turns out. Keep it up!
Mattilacken Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Sweet! Great work on that kit! Painting looks flawless!

I had fingerprints all over even after two weeks of resting and drying in a warm and dry room. Edited June 1, 2024 by Jürgen M.
