mrmike Posted June 23, 2024 Author Posted June 23, 2024 Thanks David! If I am going to dish out some serious cash for wheels, and just wheels alone, why would I want to make "disappear". I want them to stand out and be noticed! We never paint our wheels. We had a place one town over that sold wheel covers real cheap for a set of four! He now does only paving.
espo Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 For those of us that were, or maybe still, financially challenged the black wheels with the PEP Boys baby moon hub caps and narrow white walls was sort of the style for a while.
mrmike Posted June 25, 2024 Author Posted June 25, 2024 We didn't have a PEP Boys until about 10+ years ago and now all the sell are tires or service your vehicles.
mrmike Posted June 29, 2024 Author Posted June 29, 2024 I got the Bronco up on 4 wheels! Now to paint the top Gloss Black and the hood and body with the Metallic Orange. 2
mrmike Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Thanks Carl! Now to motivate myself to even more painting. This kit has very little chrome, so it is mostly paint!
mrmike Posted July 2, 2024 Author Posted July 2, 2024 I painted the Bronco today along with the hood and roof. Now to let this dry and in a few days I'll add a couple coats of clear to the body and then final assembly! 1
mrmike Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Thanks Carl! I added some detail to the grille, lights and front bumper that had enthused me from a picture on Google Images. I used the body color on the grille letters, headlights and the front bumper for a different look. 1
mrmike Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 Someone, somewhere suggested that I should paint the seat panels to help make the interior pop! I thought about it since I was going for a stock look. That all changed when I choose a non-stock color for the body and then I painted the grille letters and the front tow hooks with that color. It looks pretty good. 1
mrmike Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 Thanks Joe! The SUV is almost done. It needs some polishing and a few decals.
