OldTrucker Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Built a long long time ago. Shortened the frame with the idea to make a dry spreader like the one I ran at Simplot Soil Builders in Ault Colorado. Got put on the back burner. Decided it would be good candidate for the snowplow and dump bed from the Amt Ford kit. Considered fleet orange but decided the thing looks too good to change so will go black or red with the dump bed and plow. 4
maxwell48098 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Here's one I built at as tractor way back in 1979 that I shortened the wheelbase on. 1
OldTrucker Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 Getting the dump bed mounting pieces adapted to the frame. My luck was the amount I had shortened the frame already was exactly what was needed! 3
Mike Slapattack Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 These are such cool kits. I hope Round2 brings it back one day like they did with the Transtar II

I hope Round2 brings it back one day like they did with the Transtar II Sorry, it's the Transtar CO4070A they did new tooling and reissued, not the Transtar II Eagle CO4070B where the tooling was changed from the Transtar CO4070A so it couldn't be reissued in it's original form. The tooling for the Transtar II Eagle seems to have disappeared when Round 2 bought the MPC, AMT and ERTL tool bank from Tomy.
OldTrucker Posted May 29, 2024 Author Posted May 29, 2024 Little more done. Had to redo the exhaust and notch the dumpty bed for the stack. Figuring out the snow plow and salt spreader from the instructions is a head scratcher. 4
gotnitro? Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Nice rebuild to save another truck! Your dump truck looks good
Scott Eriksen Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I picked one up on Ebay ,,,on the "to do" list ,,that looks good with the dump body and plow frame!
