happy grumpy Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I just so happened to love this kit and being a big beetle fan, I had to build yet another bug. This kit is a joy to build, having owned one in the late 70's makes it special to me. Paint is Tamiya metallic green coated with TS-13. I still have one to build. The Revell kit is also a beautiful kit, it's only flaw is the wheels and tires which are not quite as good as the Tamiya kit but everything else is really good. as always thanks for stopping by. 14
DJMar Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I'm not a huge fan of green, but that looks really good!
Yeah Nah Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Assuming they're all your work Mario, showcasing some fine models here; not least of which is the new Beetle!
Spottedlaurel Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Very nice work Mario. You've done a particularly nice job on the brightwork and window trims.
ncbuckeye67 Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 That is beautiful! I'm really diggin' the green, it's perfect for a Beetle. This makes me want to break out my Revell Beetle convertible, and get started on it.
Rich Chernosky Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Mario..I have this kit built and you are right ..it was a joy to build. And you have done is wonderful job on it as well as all the other models there.
espo Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the cleanly done body trim.
SpikeSchumacher Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Mario, you have presented some really nice builds on this forum! Those first three pics could be actual photos of 1:1 vehicles. ??
TransAmMike Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Another super nice build by you Mario. I also owned 2 Bugs and my wife before I met her had a '68 Convertible that she blew the engine twice...Hot rodding?
XYHARRY Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Nice beetle there Mario. I also built this kit and agree, it's a good one. Well done on yours. Cheers, David. ??

Not a big fan either , a friend of mine sent me a picture of a green bug from Romania, so I sent him back these.? Thanks Rich, I do appreciate your kind comments. Tamiya rarely disappoints , I am currently working on their Mercedes 300 SL and it's a real treat to build. David G. Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Wow! For just a moment I thought it was a real car. The diorama really helps with that illusion. Super nice build! David G. 1
John B. Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Back in the day, my wife owned several Beetles and her favorite color is green; very nicely done! 1
Dann Tier Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Beautiful bug!, and i love your backdrop diorama also! 1
kjohan Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 So realistic in the setting Have this kit in my stash Seeing this build certainly is a great inspiration
Rattlecan Dan Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Very nice job. They were great little cars to drive. Never seen one look quite that sexy.
1959scudetto Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Unusual color for a mid 60's beetle, Mario - but a great looking model - and the background, too !
