I have a couple display cases that I have to move slightly to open and close. My survivor models roll with very little effort and move whenever I open or close the case.

I have used small spot adhesive tapes with limited success.

I am looking for 2'-4' long clear strips of material with adhesive to attach to the shelves to keep my survivors in line. I have not had any luck finding anything like this.

Also open to other ideas.

Thanks.

Pick up some half round wood strips

Put double sided tape on the flat side and stick to the shelf front and rear

Paint or stain the wood strips the color of your choice

Make miniature wheel chocks for your model. :D

While that might actually be a valid option, you should be able to buy some acrylic square rod, then use double-sided tape to attach it to the glass shelf.  Or you could cut the square rod into short pieces and make a pair of small wheel chocks for a single wheel of each model.  That way they will stay in place instead of rolling to the edge of the shelf.

Do a google search for 1/4" square acrylic rod.  Or maybe even 1/8" rod would work for you (especially for those chocks). And it is clear transparent, so it will work well on a glass shelf. I just did a quick search and there are plenty of sources available.

I don't do rollers if I can avoid it for this reason, my models are static display models, not toys.

I would think a dab of white glue, where the axles meet the chassis would do the trick. It could easily be removed, if that became necessary. I agree with Hakan--I glue mine during construction.

I have small 1X2 blocks under the front corners of all of my cases that are sitting on carpet, and some 0.5X1.5 plywood blocks under the front corners of my cases sitting on hardwood flooring.  It's just enough to make the cases lean ever so slightly rearward.

Just a thought,

I use Poster Tack. I put a glob on the rear tire and my cars stay put. I also use it in my small display cases.

I like that idea. I was thinking double sided sticky tape.

A friend of mine has a daughter that is a museum curator, I specifically asked her what the museum uses to keep objects that might move around like a toy car or something with wheels on a shelf.  She recommended, Quake Hold, Museum Wax.

Quake Hold Clear Museum Wax

I found some at a local art store which has since gone out of business, so the link here is for Dick Blick Art Supply. The stuff looks like clear bees wax or other pliable wax, you take a tiny dot apply it to the tire and stick it to the shelf. On most of the models that I have used this on i put a dot on both front wheels and have had zero movement. It comes off pretty easy and like the Blue Poster Tack it will get between the tire treads and you will have to use a toothpick to remove it if you want it off completely. I have used both the Blue Poster Tack and the Museum Wax, I like the Museum Wax the best as it is not detectable on a glass shelf between a tire and shelf, where the blue Poste Tack looks like you ran over a spot of gum.  That's just my opinion though.
