landman Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 I put it here because it is 3 or 5 ton, which I assume qualifies for light commercial. If it should go to the big rigs, please let me know. 2
NOBLNG Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Yeah…cool! Is that a resin kit? I was going to buy something similar a while back, but the shipping cost killed my enthusiasm.? 1

landman Posted June 13, 2024 Author Posted June 13, 2024 I had a 216 in the collection. it will go in there. 3
landman Posted June 13, 2024 Author Posted June 13, 2024 Rounded up some suspension bits including some resin springs that are a bit sorry looking. Cut some hangers from a piece of appropriately shaped sprue.
landman Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 Cutting up a classic car interior to fit and added a little doghouse to clear the rear of the engine. 1
landman Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 Made up a firewall using a cardboard pattern. Enlarged the wheelwells using the automatic wheelwell enlarger.
landman Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 Found a front crossmember that fits the engine perfectly.
landman Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) This is more or less how it is going to go on the chassis. This means it is back to the drawing board for the interior. Edited June 15, 2024 by landman 2
Kenmojr Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Looking forward to more on this cool rig. Is that COE body resin or from a kit? Cheers from Nova Scotia.... 1
landman Posted June 23, 2024 Author Posted June 23, 2024 Adjusted the axle levels to provide a more level ride height. Made up some backing for the wheels with the "Use what you got" philosophy. Added some Meng nuts to the front wheels.
gotnitro? Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 (edited) Excellent work I got a good chuckle over the automatic fender opener Edited June 26, 2024 by gotnitro? 1
landman Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Nothing fits so rearranged the front sprins so that the axle can be better located and started carving a notch in the firewall to match the doghouse. 1
landman Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Added some detail to the wheels, touch ups required of course. The window patterns are taken. Debating between a Duesenberg dash or a Nascar dash 2
stavanzer Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I really like where this is going. Medium Duty Rigs seldom get much love from Modelers, so your build stands out! The Quality of your scratch work is a cut above! 1
