oldcarfan Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 In a couple months, we are going to be in Orlando and then in Miami and Key West for a few days. I've googled hobby shops in those areas, but they mostly seem to be R/C oriented. Does anyone have a favorite shop to recommend, maybe one that doesn't get the attention it deserves? I can't really see making the effort to shop at a Florida Hobby Lobby over a Texas one. lol
Tabbysdaddy Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Colonial Photo and Hobby, located on Mills Avenue downtown Orlando. It's sectioned out with photography stuff, trains, and plastic kits. RC, puzzles and such too. It's the best one around here. They're closed Sundays. Edited June 9, 2024 by Tabbysdaddy
Jim B Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Crown Hobbies on Coral Way in Miami used to be good, but I haven't been there in almost 40 years.
vamach1 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Check out www.micromacromundo.com They have a large store in Miami and retail hours and carry a lot of kits and paints. The new location is a little tricky to find but it is worth checking out and you can see their inventory inline. Edited June 9, 2024 by vamach1
bobss396 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Try Daytona Racing Souvenirs on 92, just west of the Speedway on the same side of the highway. I always stopped in there when I was in the area. They had some aftermarket stock car items. I haven't been there since 2011.

Like legitimately, objectively terrible. But they do have a decent selection and fair prices. Unfortunately you're going to be on the wrong coast, but K&K Hobbies in Port Charlotte is very good as well as Family Hobby Center here in Naples.
OldNYJim Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 The Dezerland Park car museum in Orlando is WELL worth a visit - all kinds of cool stuff to see…plus their gift shop has model kits! Atlantis and AMT stuff mostly, as I recall…
