Jim B Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Here is my take on the Tamiya 2022 Subaru BRZ (ZD8): The build (per my build style) is box-stock, although I did add the Japanese license plates from Kagoshima. Japanese model of a Japanese car. Seemed fitting. Build went smoothly until final assembly when the model self-destructed five times while I was trying to put the body on. I'm going to guess that it was completely my fault, and not the fault with any defect in the kit. Body color is Tamiya Blue Mica TS-50. Engine bay (yes, kit comes with a hood prop): Interior: Not my best work, but I'm moderately please with the results. Onward & upward, right? 9 1
Chuckyg1 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 That's beautiful. Mica blue is a favorite color of mine, and it looks good here. You build is clean and simple and came out great. 1
Jim B Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Thanks, guys & gals. I appreciate the positive comments.
espo Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Great looking paint color and the body trim is all cleanly done. Like the engine detailing. A lot can be done during an OOB build by just paying attention to the little details like this. 1
Jim B Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Thanks, David. It's not a contest winner by any stretch of the imagination, but it looks pretty good.
Rich Chernosky Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Jim...that's great little kit and you did a good job with it. Like the wheels especially. 1
Jim B Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. @Rich Chernosky The wheels are stock from the kit, and are painted with Tamiya Gun Metal X-10.
Jim B Posted June 18, 2024 Author Posted June 18, 2024 (edited) Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. Edited June 18, 2024 by Jim B
Justin Porter Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Nicely turned out. The engine bay really is a gem with all of the clean paint detailing. 1
Jim B Posted June 22, 2024 Author Posted June 22, 2024 Thanks, Justin. Engine detail is kind of a unique feature on this Taniya kit.
