martinfan5 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Here is AMT's 1995 F-150 long box kit, boring out of box build, Ford Brilliant Blue from Scalefinishes, this is one of many kits from my teenage years that I wanted to rebuild. The blue is a bit dark, I used Mr Surfacer 1500 which is on the dark side, I should of used a lighter grey primer of white. I also forgot about the front suspension being too close to the front bumper , I remembered when I got all assembled, too late to do anything at that point. I also raised the rear part of the leaf springs as this kit always sat low in the rear and its always bothered me. I removed some chrome for the grill trying to the remove the black paint I used from painting the inside of the grill opening, old AMT chrome is not durable, lessened learned,I thought I could get way with air brushing the black in without masking, nope. Overall, pleased with the how looks, there are things could of done better I think. Ignore the left rear tire, I forgot to glue the wheel back in place, so its a bit lose, and I also forgot the chrome trim around the wheel openings, just pretend its there. And some the black trim paint of the front bumper flaked off when taking the pics. 8
Zippi Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Pretty kewl looking pickup there Jonathan. Nice color choices and the black trim down the side breaks up all that blue nicely. Nice job man.
espo Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the clean chassis and engine detailing.
av405 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Nothing boring about this one! Looks great! I like that you did the tailgate Ford strip black. On most of the builds of these trucks that I've seen, the builders paint it red as they were pre-1992.
mikemodeler Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Nice, clean, and well detailed build with a beautiful shade of blue.
Chuck Most Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Must be factory fresh... The cab corners and rear wheel arches are still intact.
Ulf Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Nicely built, my absolute favorite kit, this kit established my AMT fanboy identity for life.
happy grumpy Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Turned out really nice. Beautiful finish on the paint.
stavanzer Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 I like it! You nailed all the details, and your colour choice fits the truck nicely. Good Show.
