Is anyone printing or casting a front clip to convert the "Class Action" from a 1980 model year to a 78-79 ? I want to build a replica of my 78 that I used to have. The 78-79 had single headlights, and the turn signals wrapped around from the front to the side next to the headlight, instead of underneath like on the 1980. I have a 79 "Wheeler Dealer" in my stash, but don't want to hack it up. I would  really only need the grille, and two headlight bezels.

Correct me if i'm wrong didn't Trumpeter do a 78 'monte Carlo kit years ago?.

Yes they did. I can count on one hand how many I've seen built over the years. It was a ridiculously overpriced hot mess of a kit that absolutely never was included on anybody's wish list of models.

it is on my list to do. I want to complete the whole line from 1970 to 1987. 73-75 and 82 is done.

While MPC never did the 1978 kit as advertised, they did make an assembled promo.  Those are easy to find on ebay.  Prices are usually under $40.  That's cheaper and much easier than trying to convert a 1980.

Yup, just checked E-bay and the first 2 '78s that popped up were both a "buy it now" for $30.00 + shipping. You couldn't get a new copy of the '80 plus a conversion kit for that.

But, of coarse, there's quite of a few identical ones for over 100 bucks. ?

, , and one asking a "BIN" of $185.00 ??

Yes they did. But it's $$ if you can find one.

From what I've heard it's not a very good replica of the 1:1 car.

I don't think it's so much not a good replica as it is over priced and overcomplicated for a car kit. Only car kit I've ever seen with separate guides on the head rests for the seat belts.

Think "Fujimi Enthusiast kit" complicated at the price of 3 regular kits. The price was what drove me off.

Here's a link to the instructions.

I took your suggestions, and had a friend buy the green one for $30.00. It was $48 with shipping & tax (now do I want to paint it, Lol?)
