keviiin86 Posted September 2, 2024 Author Posted September 2, 2024 (edited) Started fitting the roll bar and the convertible hard top. Edited September 2, 2024 by keviiin86 1
keviiin86 Posted September 11, 2024 Author Posted September 11, 2024 Got the roll bar in place where I want it with the rear down bars, drilled through the convertible top deck lid for them to pass through and made sure the hard top will still fit. It will be a challenge to attach the rear bars and paint them once the rest is in paint though as it'll have to go together in a certain sequence. 2
dragcarz Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Really looking great, I love what your doing here!

keviiin86 Posted September 13, 2024 Author Posted September 13, 2024 Got some paint on it last night, came out fairly smooth, got a couple small pieces of lint/dirt in the paint that ill have to knock down with some fine grit paper then shoot some clear on it. Not bad though for a rattle can job. Paint is GM mystic teal automotive touch up that I had mixed up in a spray can. 1
TransAmMike Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 That's a really pretty paint job Kevin. Ha, ya beat me doing the '57, was a planned project for the future for me. Gonna be a great build!! 1
Daddyfink Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Cool build! And in case you need a Diorama idea.... 1

keviiin86 Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 Paint is finished to my liking. Had to strip and repaint and clear the hood after having some reaction with the metallic in the paint and clear coat. Used rustoleum clear and lightly sanded and buffed a few spots. 2

keviiin86 Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 (edited) Modified the kit headers a bit, shortened the primary tubes a little and chopped off the super trap mufflers, added flanges and collector extensions. Plan on painting them white and dirtying them up a little to give it a used look. Then I can mount them to the engine and put in a wired distributor. Edited September 20, 2024 by keviiin86 2
johnyrotten Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Great looking corvette. They always look like they mean business when built like this. ? 1
keviiin86 Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Put some of the interior together, and got the headers painted and glued on the engine. 2
