bogger44 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Moebius F100 kit bashed with Fireball Modelworks excellent F250 conversion kit. Been a few months in the making but finally finished it up yesterday. My kit was no exception to the warped hood, but got it straightened out the best I could. Same goes with getting the cab and bed lined up properly (not spot on but close). Overall a good kit to put together. Fireballs's parts and instructions were easy to work with/follow. Those Western mirrors are beautifully done, but pretty fragile and needed great care not to break them. Tamiya Maroon and Racing White are close stand-ins for Royal Maroon and Wimbledon White. The chassis was treated to some dirt and grime, as was under the hood, and a little in the interior and bed. I spruced up the engine with some go fast(er) goodies from my parts box. The dual exhaust was cobbled together from various pieces, and finished with aluminum tubing tips. Really like how she turned out. That's enough rambling for now, thanks fer lookin' and any questions and comments. 15
Chuckyg1 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Really, really nice! Perfect color combo and detailed engine bay. I like the interior detail best. Tough looking truck.
ncbuckeye67 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 That is one beautiful truck, inside & out! Those wheels & tires look amazing, and really make the truck look beastly.
Volzfan59 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Oh heck yes! This is a great looking Ford F-250. Thank you for posting.
Maindrian Pace Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 So many great bump/dent side Ford pickups here lately, I hope this trend continues.
leafsprings Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 (edited) Excellent looking build. Detail work is fantastic. These era Ford's look great as a 3/4 ton 4x4 with tu tone paint jobs, Thanks again also to Moebius for finally covering this era, the kats at AMT and the MPC people really blew it when they had the chance back in the day. Great choice on period aftermarket 16.5 wheels and tires, very popular look back in the day. Edited June 29, 2024 by leafsprings
XYHARRY Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Wow, that looks great. Weathering and overall detail is excellent. Well done Tony. Cheers, David. ??
mikemodeler Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 That is really nice, love how it sits with the wheels and tires.
bill lanfear Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Excellent work on this! The upgrades make it come to life! Details like correcting the thermostat housing location on the FE engine makes a huge difference in my opinion!
bogger44 Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 Thanks for the wonderful comments everyone! This is only the second kit I've done some weathering to, and am enjoying this new to me added detail and learning the process. Been using the Tamiya weathering kits. 9 hours ago, bill lanfear said: Excellent work on this! The upgrades make it come to life! beeRS Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Fantastic job there. I really like the colour choice, and those wheels and tyres really add to the look. What parts were supplied from Fireball? Is it just the wheels and tyres?

Fireballs kit (along with the wheels/tires) includes the axles and all suspension pieces, driveshafts, and transfer case. Also a couple crossmembers for the frame to bring it to F250 spec. For the body he's included in the kit the emblems, clearance lights, and optional western mirrors (mirrors are purchased separately). I think it was 3 different choices for wheels offered as well. Everything was top notch quality and fits together well, highly recommended if your interested in building one yourself! Edited August 8, 2024 by bogger44 1
