Modlbldr Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) I finished this one last night. It was for a two month FB build-off using the 50 Chevy as a basis. You can vote for your favorite at Street Dreams In Scale on FaceBook. Lots of good looking builds entered. I named her "Marge". The bed is the front of the 50 Ford convertible with the custom front clip. Everything from the cab back is scratchbuilt except for the tools. For the seat I glued a candy wrapper to the kit seat with wood glue. Gave it a worn leather look. This was a blast to build. Later- Edited July 1, 2024 by Modlbldr 2
NOBLNG Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Terrific work Tom! I like the whole concept and execution…and that candy wrapper gives an amazingly realistic leather look.??? 1
Zippi Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 "Marge" is looking pretty good there Tom. I can see it setting out front on the corner of a local gas station. 1
TNT Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Cool build. Candy wrapper did the trick. Looks ready for a role in a horror movie. 1
espo Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Great looking Boom and all the extras in the bed. Glad you mentioned how you created the bed sides. Using the headlight housings for the taillights looks like that's the way it should be done. Like how the patina is done along with all the other weathering. 1
Modlbldr Posted July 1, 2024 Author Posted July 1, 2024 Thank you everyone! It's much appreciated- and, as always, I posted this in the wrong place since it is completed. Later-
