Nice collection of NYPD Blues !

Are they all legitimate police cars ? If not, did their restorers toe-the-line (correct speedometers, upholstery , engines) ?

I'd be keen on seeing a '67-'68 Fury with the 225 (like in French Connection and The Seven-Ups)

As far as I know, the three Mopar police cars were “real”.The Chevy, which is hard to see in the pictures, was not a real NYPD car.It was a white taxi,I believe,in CA.I gotta say, besides the Crown Vic,my favorite police cars, would have to be the 72,Fury.I think this picture was from Dog Day Afternoon.I just wish someone would come out with a diecast or plastic model of the car.

The black and white one I see parked outside of the Pistol Bureau over in Yaphank. Exit 57 on Sunrise.

Do you mean this car?I believe the NYPD  cars are privately owned. But they towed this car to the show.

That is the same car I believe. It goes outside on nice days. That year was when the SCPD started, they were Town of Islip (and other towns likely) Police before that. My uncle patched over at that time, he was SCPD badge #11.

Ron, where's the engine pics? Everyone knows that the appeal of these old cop cars is that huge engine! I read somewhere that the CHP liked the 440 MoPar engine because it out-lasted all the other engines they tested at WOT. They dyno'ed a bunch of engines running them 'wide open' for an extended period. The Chrysler ones out performed the others.....

Ww will be visiting the pistol bureau soon, my girlfriend needs to re-up her pistol permit. If the car is outside, I'll get some pictures of it, or ask if I can see it inside somewhere.

Cool, yea,i couldn’t find the owners. And the Caprice, which again is tough to see in the pictures.Ive posted pictures of the whole car a few months ago on another post. The NYPD Mopars were just so cool to see.I dk,i love police cars.Mopars,Crown Vic’s.Big 440s,NYPD,Chargers.A friend has five police cars.Four Fords, and one 70 Mopar NYPD car.Its a HUGE tank of a car.I actually have an 09 black CV.Probably one of the funnest cars i have ever owned. Its a four door Mustang.Rides like a Caddy, handles like a Vette.Sure the 4.6 wasn’t the fastest police car motors, but once u get up on the expressway, boom?.Just takes off,and it’s very smooth even over 140.?Here’s another one of my favorite cars.??NYS Diplomat.Ive owned three of those, three black ones ,unmarked. You own a police car,You gotta have a black one,imo.image.png.0de80488c4b8ee3e0256130df1c22297.png

There was a used cop car seller up state NY, Ballston Spa. They always had old state trooper cars on the lot. When I was doing alignments, one Diplomat came in and I shook it down and looked under it. The cross member looked like a jigsaw puzzle. It had been "fixed" with numerous welds and fresh cracks throughout the k-member. Plus it had an oil leak so bad I had to rig up a cardboard shield to keep the oil off me as I looked at it.
