I went by Kings Hobby in Austin last week while in town and it's gone. Someone said they've moved to a different location, but then someone else said they have hardly any stock and may be closing out. Not trying to start a rumor, I hope they are regrouping for better days!

DuckDuckGo search shows it at 7801 N Lamar Blvd, Unit E188, Austin.  I've only been there once and that was over 15 years ago and I don't think it was at that address.

They moved. They are also mainly a consignment shop now. The guy who owned the shop (Rudy Kline…sp?) sold it during the recession. He stayed on as manager for a long time, then opened another store in Kyle, TX, about 30 minutes south. His new store is Lionheart Hobby and it is an awesome hobby shop. Good selection of kits, supplies, books, magazines, everything. Plus Rudy knows pretty much everything about the hobby. You can call him up and ask if anyone makes a model of exactly what you’re looking for and if he doesn’t know the answer, he can find out quickly.

Lionheart is an hour drive on a good day. It is still my LHS. I only buy somewhere else if Rudy can’t get it. There is value in having a good brick and mortar hobby shop.

Wow, I've been to Lionheart! I didn't make the connection until you posted. That's great that he's still around. Glad to hear it.

Ahh yeah, memories from days gone by. All the hobby shops around me have been history for several years.

Glad to hear from somebody who knows.

I was going to guess the Queen got it in the divorce.  ?
