eran_k Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 nope, that's a willis MB which the WW2 jeep, cj2 and 3 were its predecessors but they are not identical
Ulf Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 https://cj3b.info/Toys/CJ3BJ4AToy.html Wrong scale but is it what you looking for ? I will start my 1/25 CJ5 MPC build any year…
NOBLNG Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) It shouldn’t be too difficult. The Godzilla kit can be built as a WILLYS CJ2A which isn’t too different from a CJ3. The CJ grill is included in the kit. Here’s a link to my 2A build and a reference site. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/168321-jeep-cj-2a/ https://cj3a.info/cj3a/cj2acj3a.html https://cj3b.info/History.html Edit: That is a link to my finished Jeep, but there is a link to the build which shows some of the 2A changes. You would have to fabricate a new windshield frame at least for a 3A, plus other minor bits?? The 3B would be a bit more work with the higher hood, but definitely doable. The engine is different in the 3B also. I think the actual body tubs are similar enough to use? I don’t know if there might be any better donor kit available? Edited July 13, 2024 by NOBLNG

It would have solved a lot of problems. That is a beautiful build. 1
NOBLNG Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 (edited) Another good site with specs and some measurements. https://www.jeepdatabase.com/cj3a And more info: https://cj3b.info/index.html Fascinating section on all sorts of scale and toy Jeeps in the above link.? CJ-2A: CJ-3A: CJ-3B: Edited July 12, 2024 by NOBLNG
stavanzer Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Not a whole lot of difference between a CJ2A and a CJ3A, really. The windshield of course and other smaller details, but Jeeps stayed mostly the same for a long time. The CJ3B it a much different animal visually, so if that is what you want there is some scratch building in your future. I suspect that a Japanese company may have produced a CJ3B years ago, but it will be rare now and hard to find. You might look an this thread. But, I think the is an M38B not an M38A https://www.scalemates.com/kits/mpc-1-1210-250-jeep-cj-5--989876 But it may be more M38A (rounded) than you want. Some More Info on CJ3's at this site. https://cj3a.info/cj3a/farmjeep/fj.html Lastly the Italeri 1/24 Jeep is a Willys MB or GPW, so that won't work for you. I hope this Helps.
oldcarfan Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 If you're talking about the one with the taller hood, I know someone on here or maybe on Scale Auto's former site a long time ago made one by adding extra plastic to the hood bottoms and cowl to raise them up. They might have spliced kit parts from two kits to raise the height. They probably did the same for the grille, too.
