spencer1984 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Mostly box stock build of Aoshima's new-for-2024 tooling. There's a WIP thread here, and a full writeup is available here. As always, any comments/criticisms are welcome! The biggest change I made from the kit was the addition of Goodyear/Eagle GT tire decals from Fireball Modelworks. Using aftermarket wiring would look better, but I wanted to see how all these went together. Except for the step where the upper and lower wiring meets on the right side of the center console, everthing went together great. I think I used just about every metallic color variant I had to add some variety to the rear deck. 18
Jim B Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Great looking DeLorean time machine. Very well done.
thatz4u Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 looks real, well done, I can't stop looking at the details.... 1
mrm Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 This is super cool. I may have to find me one of these kits. I love the movie and it looks like a very detailed model. You did a fantastic job with it too.
shoopdog Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Wow, you did a tremendous job on what looks to be a very complicated kit.
STU111 Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Excellent work on a much loved movie car. Top stuff.??
beeRS Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Great Scott! Doc would be impressed! Well done on a great build there. I think this new tool kit looks so much better than the old Aoshima one. I’m considering building one as a stock Delorean.
Bainford Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Very cool! The variety of metal shades really sets off the detail.
Intmd8r Posted August 16, 2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Agree with everything already posted-very realistic build. well done!
spencer1984 Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 Thanks, everyone! 19 hours ago, mrm said: This is super cool. I may have to find me one of these kits. The Part I kit just had a second run and Part II is due out in December, so you should have some options! 15 hours ago, beeRS said: I think this new tool kit looks so much better than the old Aoshima one. Along with the Part II (and likely more) release, Aoshima is also dropping a version of the kit as a stock DeLorean at the end of this month. 1

I would love to build one of those.
TooOld Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Very cool ! If that's all kit wring/detailing it looks like a very well done kit . Great work !
David G. Posted August 17, 2024 Posted August 17, 2024 Beautifully done Bill! I like Aoshima's version better than Polar Lights, lots more of the interior detail represented. David G.

David G. The interior does indeed look amazing. I am not familiar with either kit and honestly don't know what came in it and what was added in the build, but it looks very well detailed.
spencer1984 Posted August 18, 2024 Author Posted August 18, 2024 Thanks guys! 14 hours ago, David G. said: Beautifully done Bill! I'd never actually built the PL version, after doing this though I really want to take a swing at it! 8 hours ago, mrm said: I am not familiar with either kit and honestly don't know what came in it and what was added in the build, but it looks very well detailed. Pretty much everything here is straight out of the box, the only thing I added was the tire lettering. To compare the two, the dashboard of the new Aoshima kit by itself has more individual parts than the entire interior and back deck of the Polar Lights kit. It's wild how much they included in this! 1

I did a WIP for the Polar Lights issue back in 2017 which shows the basic interior and some of the upgrades I made. There's a world of difference between the Aoshima and Polar Lights versions. Let me know what you think Bill. David G.
