FujimiLover Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) Hello there. I'm interested in some day building one of these. While I absolutely hate the plan boring Mini Cooper, I simply LOVE the S-version! I'd like to find this model, and I'd like to know if there is a racing Cooper version? I'd like to combined the two into a half street/half race car with some nice inch-up's. Would be awesome to build it like this one! Edited April 9, 2009 by FujimiLover
FujimiLover Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Thank you, I'll see if he has a web site.
Exotics_Builder Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 i'm not sure Fujimi ever did a racing version, you could check with HobbyLinkJapan and see if there are any. if you want this kit there is a good chance you will find it there too. i have an handful or so of the different variations that Fujimi has done from the Mini One up to the S versions and i think they are very nice kits of these cars. stay away from the Revell of Germany Mini kit, it's horrible! as for aftermarket body kits or parts i don't think anyone has ever offered any, but it's been awhile since i've been looking into things like that. the company Scale Auto Style was the only resin company i know of making aftermarket style resin conversions and kits for different scale "tuner" type cars but i don't think he's still around. Dave No Aftermarket body kits. Crazy Modeler does a very good PE set though. There is a Cooper Works S version (I'm building it now), but that's as far as I know it goes. Gerry
FujimiLover Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) PE set? What you mean? The Cooper Works S version would be nice. Can you post pic's? I'd like to see what the kit look's like. I forgot that Kyosho has an awesome 1/18 scale die-cast model of the Cooper Work's S version in white. It's beautiful, and I'd like to build one in 1/24. Edited April 9, 2009 by FujimiLover
Zoom Zoom Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Get it at Strada Sports Model Car Garage has a very small set of PE as well Cooper Works (LHD) Cooper Works (RHD) I have the "Stella Bridger" version; it's the full-boat JCW version w/LHD and the sunroof. It's been partially painted for years, still unfinished. I don't think there are any aftermarket body kits for Coopers. You are on your own if you want anything beyond the JCW versions. Scale Auto Style didn't do the Cooper, and they're completely out of business anyway.
FujimiLover Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Thanks! I prefer the white one that Handsome Rob drove. Found it at HLJ, but have no funds for it at the moment. I wonder what inch-up wheels I could fit on it? Edited April 10, 2009 by FujimiLover
Nick F40 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I saw 18's and 19's being fitted but they look rediculous, 17's and 18's look well proportioned. I would love to build one of these, I love them also but can really seem to find a good kit but now I think i'll have to get that one with the photoetched parts. I want to build a new version of the Monte Carlo Minis. The Italian Job Cooper's had 18's, i'm pretty sure.

I wonder what inch-up wheels I could fit on it? Anything more than 17's looks goofy on a Cooper. Fujimi puts 16's in their Coopers. Fujimi's wheels/tires look kind of wimpy, and they're too wide compared to their overall height. That one you show is not a Cooper S. No hood scoop. Stella Bridger version is a LHD Cooper S w/JCW bodykit. I used some Revell BBS wheels from their Subaru WRX (they're 17's in 1/25 scale and narrower than many Fujimi wheels) on my standard LHD Cooper S:
