Cuda70GC Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 A friend told me this kit was going to be reissued. Has anyone heard anything about it?
GMP440 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Not Monogram; I beleive Salvinos will be doing a Superbird, but Nascar version. A while back they showed the 3D file renderings. 1
Dave Van Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 I like the Monogram kit. There us a issue with using the Warner Bros Road Runner image. EZ fix for aftermarket.
64Comet404 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I wonder if Revell could include the bench seat interior with the Superbird, just for something different? 1
drksd4848 Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Didn’t Johan do a 1/25 version where you could build it as stock or NASCAR?

I went to their Facebook page but didn’t see it by scrolling through the posts (without actually watching each video or clicking on each post). If somebody could narrow it down a little I’ll look further.

They did, but it wasn’t a dedicated race car, but more like adding a roll cage to the stock interior, and headers, air cleaner, and other NASCAR style parts to an otherwise stock kit (with molded in exhaust on the chassis pan IIRC). It was good for a race version in that it didn’t have the vinyl roof that every stock version had to cover up the rear window plug, etc. As a kid, I thought it was awesome, but by modern standards, not a great NASCAR replica. That said, I imagine the Salvino’s kit will continue to use the chassis that looks like it was taken from a 1970s MPC NASCAR kit, which also isn’t ideal, but IIRC still looks great on the shelf. I will buy them when they come out. 1
stavanzer Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 The Monogram kit builds into a sharp replica, fairly easily. I have a couple of them. It would be nice to see them on the shelves again, as they are getting a bit Spendy on the secondary market. 2
