Len Woodruff
I had this for a while but never used it. Does anyone know if I can spray automtive paints through this. Also what adjustments that can be made. Thanks in advance for your help.
Mark
Paint is paint...acrylic, enamel, lacquer...if it's thinned properly, it should all spray the same. If you haven't tried that setup yet, I'd experiment with something easy to clean first.

bobthehobbyguy
I would think the biggest issue would.be batt e Ryan life. My guess it's made for doing fingernails. Not sure how well it would work for painting model car bodies.

I find that if I use it for spraying a body, it's pretty well dead by the time I'm done spraying and need to have it plugged in while I clean it. Nice for small parts but I don't really find any real advantages over my regular single action Badger setup. BUT, like Mark said above, an airbrush is an airbrush and it will spray anything a regular one will.
Mark
If it hasn't got enough oomph to spray an entire body and then go through the cleaning process, it might be better for things like chassis and interiors.

These reason I was looking at this was that I wouldn;t have to moe the cars out f the garage to get to the Paint Booth/ Air brush. The bos says it sprays at 1.2kg/cm2. Which if I calculated correctly is about 71psi. Most of my spraying is done at 30 psi except when I do Aclad at about 15psi.

Looks exactly the same as mine and it puts out about 25 -30 PSi , I estimate. , Can't see it being any where near 71. BUT, seeing as you already have the unit, I'd imagine you can just fire it up and judge for yourself. ? Just one speed and no way to control air flow volume. Same as using a single action airbrush with no air volume control on the compressor.

Exotics_Builder
You cannot adjust the pressure on these. I have one (not the one you have) that I replaced the brush with my Iwata HP-CS. You need to thin the paint to fit pressure. This may not be optimal for some paints. I use lacquers in my brush and have not any issues yet. I use mine for mainly chassis, small parts, light touch ups and odd jobs. I also have a Slientaire compressor that I use when I need to set the pressue and run longer times.
Dave G.
I saw a video on one of these where there were three settings for pressure, adjusted by a press of the on off switch to get to each increase in pressure. Seems to me something around 20 psi up to 31.. .3 needle seems common on them all. The videos I watched all use acetone for thinner and cleaning. They were nail polish kits. The .3 needle seems a little small for bodies. I think my Badger Crecendo has a .5 for the medium tip. I try mine later today and see what happens. bobss396
If nail polish can be shot through it, any paint should be okay with it. I'd be concerned about keeping the innards clean and if replacement parts are available. When I have used airbrushes, I recall 15 pis being a good number to work with. I used some Scale Finishes base coat through it as a test. No thinning. I sprayed it on an engine and seemed to work ok at the pressure out of the gun. 17psi?
