ModelcarJR Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 This is a re-issue of a Monogram kit in 1/24th scale under the Revell "Special Edition" branding. Its painted Tamiya Yellow (a bright yellow which was a 1970 Ford color) and Krylon satin black. I left the louvers loose so I could pose it with the louvers but I don't really like them so most photos I have left them off. I've added plug wires, a coil, a fuel line with filter and heater hoses. The decals are from the kit except for the tire decals are from Fireball Modelworks. The mirrors and rear spoiler were pinned so as not to damage the paint with glue on final assembly. BMF used for the exterior trim. Thanks for looking! ? 2
DJMar Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Very nicely done. Your BMF work is clean. I dig it! ??

Bainford Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 That's a sharp looking Mustang, John. These always look great in yellow. Nice work, including the tidy foiling. I feel much the same way about louvers. I used to think they were necessary, but in more recent years I enjoy the clean fastback line. When I built the Monogram 70 Mustang a few years ago, I painted and detailed the louvers for it. But at final assembly I couldn't bring myself to install them, it looked so good without them. I can say this though , in 1:1 they work very well to keep interior temperatures down in the summer. I have a 69 Mach I with black interior, and that big window makes it a hot-house. With the louvers on, the interior temps are much more reasonable.
XYHARRY Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Beautiful Boss Mustang there John, that colour looks great on this. Personally, I like the louvers. Really well done. Cheers, David. ??
ModelcarJR Posted August 28, 2024 Author Posted August 28, 2024 Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your comments! I guess I'll have to crank up the A/C in this one without the louvers!
STU111 Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 The 69-70 Mustangs always look great in yellow, and yours is certainly no exception. Top stuff. ??
