Sparked by the "Proof that times are changing in the collector car market" topic, what are some of your favourite collector cars?

Mine personally is the 1960 Full-size Plymouths, be it a Fury, Belvedere, or Savoy. Preferably a 2-door with a V8; like a Fury with the Golden Commando would be nice.

Probably '67-68 Mercury Cougars and '67-70 Mustangs, esp. the '69 Sports Roof and Mach 1.   More recent would be the Foxbody Mustang (like my ‘87 GT).   Grew up with Cougars and Mustangs.

So many cars, so little time.   ;)

EDIT: But if I could only pick one real-world car somewhat attainable by normal humans, I'd have to go '72 Porsche 911RS.

Porshe Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight

I'd have to say the aerocoupe Thunderbirds from the '80s....... Such a good looking car to me, and a good platform to build on, as a lot of go-fast goodies from the same year Mustangs will bolt right on!

Two examples...... One before and one after the 'facelift'........

Hands down a 69' Hemi Roadrunner with a 4-speed.1969-plymouth-road-runner-hemi.webp1969-plymouth-road-runner-hemi.webp

If I had to pick a European/Italian I'd probably pick a 62' Ferrari 250 GTOscreenshot-2023-11-14-at-10-29-34-am-6553a6bb3debd.png

Japanese would Definitely be a 1969 Datsun Z1970-Nissan-Fairlady-Z432-front-three-quarter.jpg?w=768&width=768&q=75&format=webp

Those cars are certainly an acquired taste, but it can't be said that the designers didn't go all out in the styling department!

Love 'em or hate 'em, there's no question that it would grab the attention of anyone who saw one coming down the street, car lover or not.

I personally love these quirky cars!

I love anything that's different and unusual, and this car absolutely fits the bill. :P

I have lots. If I had to choose one, it'd be a 57 Buick Caballero Estate wagon.1957-buick-caballero-estate-wagon.jpeg.68f2dbc9a24126cbab84c0ba06758efc.jpeg

Oh, that's nice! I don't think I had ever heard of it.

edit: Just had a read-up on it. Lovely car. Don't know how it has escaped my attention, but I don't recall ever having seen one. Kind of makes me wonder what else I haven't noticed.

1912-14 Stutz Bearcat. Or 1912-14 Mercer Raceabout. But, I did own a 1926 Model T Ford Speedster.

Gosh, there are so many.
Lamborghini 350 GT and Miura. Ferrari 275 GTB. 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 coupe. 1969 Camaro.  1970-1973 Camaro Rally Sport. 1971 Barracuda.  Mercedes-Benz W111s with the Euro-spec “Cathedral” headlights. (Pic). An hour from now I could have an entirely different list.

That Mercedes is just dreamy.
