Horrorshow Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 What’s better than starting a new build when you have about 25 already started? Starting 2, of course. Purchased 2 Salvinos’ 442 kits on sale from Mike’s. Both have been primed with grey and have been top coated with white. 5
bobss396 Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 I got a Lemans kit, same series. Which I realized was "modeled" after the GMP and or Monogram Buick Regal kits. I had to make some mods to the firewall and rear wheel tubs to close up large gaps. I should pick up a 442 kit myself... I have probably close to 30 stalled builds in my queue.
PatW Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Wow Salvinos, really expensive, especially here in the UK!
Johnny Canuck Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Same in Canada. But no one ever complains about the price of quality. (cue snarky rivet counter remarks) 2
bobss396 Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 What decals came with the kit? IIRC, Foyt ran those.
Horrorshow Posted September 13, 2024 Author Posted September 13, 2024 They were both Buddy Baker #28.
GMasterG Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 (edited) I’ll see you your two and raise you 2 all primed and ready to be made as: Benny Parsons Racing AJ Foyt Cale Yarborough Buddy Baker’s Gray Ghost Edited November 27, 2024 by GMasterG Better-cropped and oriented figure 2

GMasterG Posted January 20 Posted January 20 How are your builds progressing? Could you help out a fellow journeyman? I can’t locate the steering linkage in any of the 4 kits that I’m building. It’s part #38 in step 6 of your instructions. Could you take a look and see if you have the part and if so provide a picture of which sprue tree it’s on? Many thanks.

The part in question is extremely thin, I don’t recall which parts tree it’s on, sometimes the part is broken, it’s very fragile, poor designing. Check for more pictures in the NASCAR section titled, Donnie, Cale, 1979.

No matter, I will design and 3D-print a replacement. Cheers.
