mrm Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 (edited) This was completed last year, but I never got around to taking photos of it. The car is not exact copy, but rather inspired by a Good Guys Hot Rod of the Year '32, which I saw in person and immediately fell in love with. I knew I had to make a model of it, the minute I saw it. My model is pretty close to the original, altho not 100%. It is based on the next to last edition of the Revell '32 Tudor Sedan and has pieces from a dozen different kits, modified interior, scratch built wheels and few photo etched pieces. The black parts of the car were painted with Tamiya gloss black, while the two different greens are Rustoleum garden furniture paint from Walmart. There is a coat of Tamiya grey primer under all the paint and everything was topped off with 2K clear. It was somewhat quick and simple build, at least by my standards. It does have some flaws, but overall I am happy with it. Edited September 13, 2024 by mrm 15

I have a Goodguys Magazine with a feature on this 32 when it was named Hot Rod of the year. I saw a feature of the car somewhere, I don't remember. And I thought "Hm, this would make a cool model". And that was it. But then I went to the Good Guys show in Nashville and while I was walking around I saw the car chilling under a tent. Very unassuming on the side. I went to check it out and I realized it was the car from the feature I had seen. So I took some pictures and talked to the guys that build it. What striked me was how understated it was and also that the color looked completely different in the sunlight from what I had seen in the article. Then I stopped by the spray cans in Wallmart (I always do) and I saw the two greens and they were perfect match. So I grabbed them and the how the build started. Thank you for the kind words. And by the way I have a couple more that I have not taken pictures of yet. 2
Zippi Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 The '32 really turned out nice Michael. Good looking stance. I just really like these old fat fender cars. Great build.
Coyote_6 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Sweet. A lot of fine work there! Very nice. Steve
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 That looks pretty spot-on to me! I love how subtle it is. Very nicely done!
Phildaupho Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Well build tribute Tudor. Very attractive. Good job on the dark green trim
espo Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Beautiful looking paint finishes. Like the engine details and color matching the body trim and wheels. The stance looks perfect.

JPL-ACE Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Glad you post it. I like some of these old cars because they have so much character and people are so creative with them. Be cool to tool around in this in 1:1
XYHARRY Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 You nailed the look of the 1:1 there Mozzi, your model is super clean too. Really well done. Cheers, David. ??
carrucha Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Well done replica. The Rustoleum paint came out nice.

By my standards, this was a rather quick build. I'm a scatter-brain and usually start bunch of projects and then jump from one to another, which causes me to take tforever to finish any of them. With this one the inspiration of the real car kept me focused and finished it pretty quickly without stopping. 1

The block and transmission came from the Rat Roaster. The valve covers came from a truck model I believe and first received BMF inserts and then were painted. When the paint dried the raised scripts were buffed through the paint. The EFI and Air filter were lifted from the Foose Caddy. The intake manifold, the ram-horn exhaust and the belated accessories all came from different kits. 1
slusher Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Absolutely stunning 32! What’s the body color?
Tim W. SoCal Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Flaws? I don't see any flaws! Bitchen Deuce Sedan, Mozzi! There is nothing like gaining inspiration from a real 1:1 car...
