RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 This is a 1/25 scale 3D printed resin kit created by Oleks Dmitr, owner of DiOlex Production that was based in the city of Dnepropetrovsk, in Ukraine. This is a car I wanted to make a model of for years. When one became available I had to get it and put it together. The exterior paint is Light Jade Irid. while the vinyl top is Dark Jade. The kit came with the factory turbine wheels but I had to get the tires from parts bin. Also the engine was from my parts bin. I'll install the exhaust pipe along with cats and the underside will look much better, but this model is otherwise complete. The body was sprayed with SprayMax 2K clearcoat to make it shiny. The hood ornament did not come with this kit but it was with another resin '77 to '79 Tbird that was created by another resin model maker. I need to finish that one. 11
happy grumpy Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 great build and beautiful color. Always liked the t-bird.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Wow that looks nice. Front wheels could be tucked in a bit, but otherwise very cool.
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 That looks amazing! I love the factory color you chose.
Dave Van Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 (edited) Very well done!!! Nice clean build. I owned a 77 Bird and would love a kit....are they still made?? Edited September 18, 2024 by Dave Van
peteski Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 (edited) These 3D printed kits should be currently available on eBay. Paul Hettic also makes a complete resin kit of the '77 T-Bird (which I was lucky enough to pick up on eBay), but that one can get quite pricey depending on how many motivated people bid on it. Paul also sells a '77 Cougar. Paul also had a lengthy thread on the forum about mastering his kit. Edited September 19, 2024 by peteski
M W Elky Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 You did a fantastic job on this. I know these t-birds very well as I took my drivers test on one . I used to take four ever just to wax the hood. I learned how to fix cars handing my dad the wrench’s. I still have a hatred for those cars
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated! Diolex sells these resin '77 Tbird kits on ebay if anyone else is interested in building one.
AMT68 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Excellent build. Those '77-'79 model years look great in that light green. Always thought it would also be nice to do a '79 Heritage Edition.
Lobo2me Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Well done! You don't see many models of these land yachts. I could never figure out how Ford could use that moniker on such a different beast. With each generation, it became bigger, heavier, fancier, and a lot slower than the first generation.
NitroMarty Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Nicely done.... These big old boats don't get enough love in my opinion. I owned a real '78 Thunderbird for a very short time in 1980.... Really nice driving car! I spotted it sitting a little used car lot one Saturday morning. Took it for a test drive and returned to buy it later that afternoon. My aunt fell in love with it when I stopped by to show it to my cousin the next day and offered me $1500 over what I had just paid for it.... Needless to say, by the following weekend it was hers.
Bainford Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Well there's something you don't see every day. Nice T-Bird! These T-Birds and their Lincoln Continental cousins looked so good in this light jade shade. Well done.
Sledsel Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Very nice looking Thunderbird. I actually owned one in those colors
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted December 16, 2024 Author Posted December 16, 2024 @AMT68Thanks! I would love to build a Heritage Edition one day. I do have Bosley's '79 Tbird from Charlie's Angels that I need to finish. 1
