RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 This was originally a 1/26 scale green Caprice Classic Lowrider die cast model by Maisto that was converted into the top of the line showroom version you see here. Took a very long time to make this, but this was a car model I wanted for years. Check out the ultra plush genuine velour interior! 2
XYHARRY Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Looks great, well done Racine. Cheers, David. ??
mrm Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Where do you get this stuff, man? Really cool models.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 Thank you everyone for the compliment! Here are some process shots for anyone who's interested. The base car was the Maisto 1/26 scale die cast green Caprice Lowrider with yellow graphics that was altered to make the LS Brougham version. The same can be done with Greenlight's new 1/24 scale Caprice police car. If I get my hands on one of those Greenlight models I'll build another LS.
Rattlecan Dan Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Kind of looks like an old Seville. Really unique and wild interior. Nice job.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 18, 2024 Author Posted October 18, 2024 Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated!
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 20, 2024 Author Posted October 20, 2024 @mrmSorry for getting back to you late. I figured out how to reply to individual comments. The base car was the Maisto 1/26 scale die cast green Caprice Lowrider as shown in a few pictures above. There was a booth at the Canadian International Auto Show(CIAS) called Car Buffs that only sells die casts at various shows including the CIAS. I got three of those. One became this car, one will be a '85 Pontiac Parisienne, and maybe the other one can be a '82 Parisienne. Some good places to find models are ebay, kijiji(for Canada), Craigslist, swap meet, thrift stores, garage sales, and antique stores.
RomanII Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 I am anxious to see what you can do with the much better GreenLight Caprice sedan in a reasonably accurate 1/24 scale. The A-Team car is completely stock and even has accurate appearing wire wheel covers and whitewalls. It resembles the Maisto in that many chrome trim pieces are not actually molded into the body. They're just printed on. So any recolor loses all window and side trim. It doesn't have emblems printed on to lose ?.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 @RomanIIGreat idea! One day I need to get one of those GreenLight Caprice to do some work.
