GMP440 Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 A while back there was news of Moebius releasing a 72 Ford Maverick sometime in the future. Anymore updates?
Mark Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Next year, according to anyone who is even remotely connected to Pegasus and/or Moebius.
Mark Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 No, someone from Moebius has addressed this and the '68-'72 Chevy pickups. 4
Dave Metzner Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 (edited) We're working on Mavericks and same years of Comets - my best guess is a first kit sometime first quarter 2025 - Maybe, March / Aprilish. We're getting close to mock-ups, might see tooling started before end of 2024 test shots take a couple months at best - box art , instructions and decals take a while - so yeah sometime late 1st Quarter - early 2nd Q of next year is a reasonable guess. As for 68-72 Chevy Trucks - we're working on getting 3D's now I'm expecting 3D files around the end of this month - if everything were to go smoothly we might see the first kit in that series by mid year 2025 maybe a tad sooner if everything goes without a hitch Without a hitch is the key phrase here! I just unpacked first test shots of our 1964 Comets - I haven't glued anything together yet, but the pieces look pretty good No box art instructions or decals have been started yet - best guess for these is early 2025 - stay tuned for news on those kits. These are my best guesses NOT PROMISES! There are lots of moving parts to get all these things done and parts don't always move smoothly. We do have a few more new pieces in the works beyond those mentioned here Edited October 4, 2024 by Dave Metzner 19 3

Woah. Big surprise here! Hope we can get stock height front suspension and the side window opening corrected (two issues the '65 has). Looking forward to doing the A/B comparison to the AMT Craftsman.

IIRC the drip rail of both the amt '64 and the Moebius '65 kits in the C-pillar area are the same.
Radretireddad Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) An upcoming 1964 Comet kit is great news! The possible versions are numerous. Everything from an AFX cammer to a rally Monte Carlo stormer. Mavericks and same era Comets as well! We can now look forward to no longer being stuck with the scarce, outdated, non-stock, never to be reissued Johan tools! Even better! Other new pieces in the works! I’m a kid at Christmas again! Thanks so much to the crew at Moebius for all your hard work and dedication. You make this a fantastic time to be in the hobby. Edited October 8, 2024 by Radretireddad 2

I’ve got a feeling the future sales outlook for the Round2 craftsman ‘64 Comet is about to dim significantly. Edited October 8, 2024 by Radretireddad 1
Chris V Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 A full-detail '64 Comet is a very welcome addition to the Moebius range. I'll definitely put my Jack Chrisman "Sachs & Sons" Comet-project on hold until I get a chance to see the new kit.

THX DAVE!!!!
drodg Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I have wanted to build a stock early 70's Comet GT for years.
Mr mopar Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I hope the Mavrick will come stock and or Pro stock ?

Radretireddad Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) This looks like a road race version of that rally car. Edited October 8, 2024 by Radretireddad 1

There were six Comets built for the '64 African Safari Rally - according to the internet this is one of them, converted for road racing. https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/09/one-of-actual-1964-mercury-cars-that.html
