RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 One more of my latest build of one awesome MPC kit. I built the '77 and '80 almost simultaneously over a period of many weeks. Fun fact - The '80 kit only has different body, grille, headlights, and bumpers, but everything else is the exact same as the '77 kit. So if you have the hard to find and usually more expensive '77 kit body with bumpers but missing many other parts, you can get the reissued '80 kit to complete your model. Also by fabricating a few extra parts you can make the engine bay more realistic. 9 1
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 @slusherThanks! You might get to see my Pinto hatchback from Charlie's Angels join this Pinto wagon in the near future, as soon as I finish the build.
Modelbuilder Mark Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Good looking model, sorry I missed it when you first posted.
Bainford Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Huge Pinto fan, here. You did a wonderful job on the Cruising Wagon. Looks great in red. Looking forward to your Pinto hatchback.
mustang1989 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I remember when Pintos were all over the place as a kid and I remember this kit too. Thank you for taking us on a trip down memory lane with a great replication of this car. Beautiful work Racine.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 Thank you everyone for the compliment! Much appreciated! @mustang1989Thanks! This is the Round2 reissued '80 Pinto wagon kit from a few years ago which comes with real rubber tires with pad printed raised letters unlike the plastic wheels that were common in 1970s MPC kits. Also new kit means new decals that are safe to use, but if this was an original kit from 1980 the decals would have required a spray with clear coat or application of decal bonder because decades old decals almost always disintegrates when placed in water without those treatment. I needed to do the same for my '77 Pinto wagon decals that I also posted here few months ago.
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted January 18 Author Posted January 18 @Modelbuilder MarkThanks! No worries. Seems like a lot of people missed it when I posted it many months ago.
SpeedAndViolence Posted March 30 Posted March 30 That is a fantastic build! I must have one of these now!
